I'm playing The Sims 2 Super Collection (v.1.2.5) on Mac and my Strangetown (including subhoods) has stopped working and freezes during the loading screen. The loading screen always freezes at the same point, the third loading "column", except for when I load another neighborhood first and then try to load Strangetown. Then the loading process gets a little further but still freezes. The game doesn't crash. The music still plays and I can still move the cursor, but the game inevitably stops responding every time. It worked just find the other day and there were no issues when I closed the game.
I saw another thread on here with a user who had the same issue as me. They were able to use a backup, accessed the batbox and realized the issue were caused by corrupted memories. Unfortunately I don't have any backups of my neighborhood before this problem started (stupid, I know) so I can't access the batbox. I've done all the troubleshooting I can think of, like removing CC and clearing caches. I've even downloaded
SimPE and tried to look for obvious corruption, but I'm not very knowledgeable of the program (I didn't find anything that stuck out to me) and I can't really try fixing anything if I don't know what I'm doing. I'm very attached to the Strangetown I've built and I'd like to salvage it if possible. How do I proceed from here?
