Who needs to be a bad cook, when you can hire Butlers to burn pancakes (and set fires) for you.
This was the second time in a row he set food on fire .

Mum, Dad and daughter all arrived home at exactly the same time. Dad needs to manoeuvre the truck on to the driveway, but the kid can't exit the school bus because it would mean she would need to step on the driveway and get run over. So they all sat there for an hour, waiting...

One of my Dance Spheres is glitched, I think there must have been a repair option that was removed in Beta. It's not a stuck effect, and no-one can repair it!

Yikes!

I have a "trim inaccessible hedges" mod, but I still don't really understand why Veronaville gardener Barbara Young was trimming an imaginary hedge in the middle of Angela Ramsay's living room.

Barbara then invited herself to join Angela and her invited guests for breakfast. As a result, Edward Mellon (a Veronaville townie) had to fix his own food. Angela is vaguely considering Edward, a work colleague, as possible husband material. At least she now knows he can make a lunch meat sandwich.

Afterwards Angela took her guests to Veronaville's little Indoor Swimming Pool in the Via Commerciale. She's more than a trifle overweight so she's trying to lose some of it in a reasonably enjoyable way. The pool was a bit crowded -- there was barely room to move in the water.

Default Andrew is getting Desperate!

I suppose this is the inevitable postprandial problem when 14 people attend a big Thanksgiving Meal in a house with two toilets. Andrew is more than a guest here. He was invited to the Moores' house primarily because he is one of the few Sims in the whole Grand Duchy of Veronaville, with the cooking skill to roast a turkey. After the meal there was a huge rush to the toilets, and other Sims keep beating him to it. This time Tommie Clyde, who lives next door to the Moores, got there first. Andrew is afraid he'll have an accident if he doesn't get very soon. With hindsight I should have suggested to him that he use the toilet before cooking the meal, but it's always easy to be wise after the event. With four of them living in the house (26 Via Veronaville), I really would have thought that two bathrooms with toilets was more than adequate, but when a lot of Sims gather in the house, there can really be a problem, especially at the end of a meal. Actually in my Real Life house, there are three toilets, and, since my mother died, I live alone, so perhaps the ideal solution would be to invite them all to my house!! Believe me, I love my Sims enough, that if it were possible, I think I would invite them. (I'd probably be very glad when they all went home again.)

So may I ask you all, how many toilets do you provide in your Sims' houses. Of course your Sims may not entertain on quite the lavish scale that mine do!

One or two, depends on how many floors I've built. Sometimes I build three bathrooms, but then the house is quite big

Since I usually play with lots of Sims on a lot, if want drama I give them an out-house, and an outdoor shower.

It doesn't matter how many bathrooms I have, they are always the first place sims go to smustle when the party's on, so they are never free!

And this game can be unpredictable; the party with the dad having sex with a friend of his wife. And since I have lots of zombies - fights are as much fun a dancing in the bathroom. Cops are called. Everyone had a great time....

To me the bin seems about the least interesting thing in the whole picture, but she seems fascinated by it. Maybe it's just its ordinariness that makes it interesting to her, while I'm wondering what the things beside it even are. I'm wondering too why there's a bare patch of sand beside the bin, in an otherwise paved area. The whole lot fascinates me. With its long canopy with bench seats underneath it, it looks like it might be an old station that hasn't seen a train in more than half a century.

Now for my own pics . . .

"You're reading yesterday's paper! It's all old news."

This windowless, doorless, stepless house (Neighbourhood View) in my Sim-free building neighbourhood of Aedicia also fascinates me. Clearly it's something I built myself, but what is it, and why did I build it? A little research in SimPE reveals that I built it in May 2017, and it's called "Carpet House". But the question why I built it remains unanswered. I guess it must have had something to do with carpets. As for that bit sticking out without visible support, I guess I must have wanted to see if it survived after I demolished whatever was underneath it.

I guess this might also qualify as a "Funny Picture". Spotted over Downtown Veronaville a few days ago.

It's the imaginatively titled 'Sonder Shop', which is a dingy old supermarket that sells a bit of everything. It was one of the first community lots I built for that hood, and at the time was the only place to buy anything. I put in clothes, groceries, jewellery, perfume, magazines and computer game racks; sims could get a mobile phone there and use the vending machines. They can also find a job there and buy a pet too, and there are places to woohoo! They all seem to like the arcade games at the back best. Except for Dilly, who likes looking at the bin! I dunno what I was thinking with the gap in the concrete, probably I thought about putting some flowers there and then decided that would look too pretty. The things at the side are a wheelie bin/ dumpster thing, gas canister storage and a recycling point. My local supermarkets have areas in the car park where you can recycle clothes, old gas canisters, batteries etc.- anything which is not covered in the weekly household recycling collection. So I was trying to recreate something like that, as despite being a bit of a dump, Sonder is very ecologically responsible (all businesses must have solar panels or wind power). The recycling bin is actually a neighbourhood deco object that I placed to look like it was on the lot. The cars parked in the carpark are hood objects too.

In May 2017, you were playing along with the Community Spirit contest. So perhaps you were trying something out for that?

That's the pig blimp that gets spawned when you have a water tower in the hood. The water tower is a basegame object, but when they released Open for Business they updated it to spawn the pig. In a pre-release interview for OFB, someone asked the Devs when we would be getting Pets in Sims 2. They replied, 'When pigs fly you will be getting pets...'. So when we discovered the pig blimp, there was much excitement and speculation in the community (and, of course, Pets was the next EP)! With Freetime, sims can play with and upgrade a model train set, and that has a water tower and miniature crashed pig blimp too!

Thank you @simsample !

After breaking the shower and splashing around in the ensuing puddle for over an hour, one-neat-point girl Priscilla Fleming autonomously decided to mop up the said puddle herself. I love how helpful Sim children can decide to be.

Priscilla does have 8 Nice points. I suppose that helps. . .

The next thing she did was wash up the dishes. . .

Thank you Priscilla !

In an attempt to get my burglar to know more sims, I had Dilly invite him to one of her parties. She had to look him up in the phone book first, because she's in one of the few households that haven't been visited by James Lovecraft.

I find that most NPCs accept party invitations even if relationship score is low, so he turned up (although Karen didn't, as she is a townie and has zero relationship with Dilly). So all of the NPCs, Townies and playables that Dilly knew turned up for a shindig.

It started off okay, but then I noticed Higgins on the telephone. Of course, I forgot that butlers will automatically phone the police if there's a burglary going on, and- even though there wasn't an active burglary scenario- there was a burglar in the house.

Kevin Killjoy the policeman hurried to the lot, and ran around frantically looking for burglars. He ran right past Higgins dancing alongside James Lovecraft! Then he ran around some more.

Then, he scolded poor Dilly and fined her for wasting police time! Darn it, I had Dilly quickly say goodble to Higgins, but there was another butler, Hawthorne, on the lot too, and as she was doing that, he was busy calling the police again.

Poor Dilly, she was none too pleased with me! She says I owe her a grand in simoleons.

But at least James Lovecraft now knows some people. Just a matter of time before I get him introduced to Karen.

It's a metallic bikini from Simphany.com, and she changed into it to get an outdoor shower. Simphany.com make them for children, teens and elders, but strangely enough not for adults. I did a teen-to-adult conversion, so my adult females can wear them too. I also did a topless version of the children's bikini so boys can wear them too. As I'm sure you've all noticed, skimpy clothes are fashionable for all ages in Veronaville, which has a warm and mild climate. (I don't have Seasons.)

Priscilla is staying with her mum Beckie and her brother Darren in the Downtown Changing Hut. (An unrelated teenage boy called Jimmy Parrat is staying with them too.) The hut is small and the only shower there is this outdoor one. The intention is to turn these Sims into townies, but the more time I spend with such Sims, the more I want to keep them playable. But, if I keep them playable, it will take even longer to complete a (loose) rotation. (It's currently taking me about three real years!)

Here is their loading screen picture when they first arrived in Veronaville:

Back Row: Jimmy Parrat and Beckie Fleming
In Front: Priscilla and Darren Fleming

(I was trying to find an in-game picture of them, but I couldn't find one with all four of them in it.)

Here are a couple of new pictures of the Downtown Changing hut where they are living:

This is a "zoomed out" picture showing the location of the changing hut between two big Maxis-built skyscrapers. I believe they are mainly offices. To the rear right you can see the famous Gaia nightclub for Veronaville's large LGBT community. In the right foreground you can see part of the swimming pool behind "TeenMealz", a little restaurant just for the many teenagers who live round here.

This is a "cutaway" picture showing the inside of the building. Actually the four residents here are all in this picture, but in this view they're quite hard to see. Priscilla is sleeping on the recliner in the back garden, Darren and Jimmy are in bed, and Beckie is just waking up. The boy sitting at the table eating sandwiches is Matt Bryden, a visiting friend of Jimmy's. Matt, who is very shy, is the teenage son of Edward Bryden and Diana Silke, who has recently opened a musical theatre venue in Monopolis. Matt is currently house-sharing with his adult siblings, Lewis and Morven, but his parents are inviting him to move back in with them, as, despite his shyness, Matt is very interested in helping out with the theatre. It may seem surprising that so shy a boy would want to go into the theatre, but both he and his parents are hoping it may help him come out of his shell a little. Some of you may remember Diana Silke and her theatre from @Justpetro 's recent building contest. I suppose I'm telling you all this, to show how well the Sims I added for that contest are integrating into the community.

I'm sorry if these pictures are not really funny, though some of you may find my whole way of playing kind of funny! Can we just treat this as a "Matter Arising"?

[EDIT] @simsample : I've just read your post about Dilly's party. That was genuinely "Laugh out Loud" funny! Poor Dilly does deserve at least a kaching !
