I could have sworn that I saw a bookshelf with the option 'Put away all books' or something, but now, it's disappeared.

I've also bought like.. 50 or each type of grape at the same time, and now I have to put them away ONE BY ONE??


Is there any way to put away all books or all groceries? Thanks!

Click and drag from the grey triangle-ish shaped button on the top left corner of the item stack, and that should drag all items in the stack into the fridge/bookshelf/wherever you're trying to put them.

that only works if it's the same thing. If you've bought 50 different books, it won't work (I think)

I never saw that click and drag thing in my inventory selection.

You have the "put away all books" option only if the books are in your family inventory, not an individual sim's inventory. That's where they wind up if you sell a bookcase, so that's how that option usually occurs.

And yeah, for stacked items in your inventory, you can drag the whole stack by dragging the top left corner of the inventory square (there's a grey area in the corner if it's a stack, but it doesn't really look like a button, so it's easy to miss).

Won't really help with books, though, except where you have multiple copies of the same one -- or grapes or other food items either. You'll still have to drag a lot of items. I totally agree there should be a "move all veggies" or "move all books" option.

Or, put all foods in fridge.

I will have to look for that upper left corner gray button that's not a button thingie. That will save me some serious time after grocery shopping.

Having said that, yes please look at dates. Not to mention the bar at the bottom showing how long ago the thread had been active for...that's a clue, yanno?
