I made a bad decision and couldn't get mixology, so I desperately searched with Google to find a cheat to get my sim demoted. None came up, but I accidentally discovered a way to do it, so I thought I'd share it here.

Short Version - Saved families in our libraries keep their satisfaction, traits, skills and active employment. They lose their money, inventory, and career memory. You can save your sim to the library, introduce him to a new game, get him hired in the low level job and save him once more into the library. You can return him to your old game, or keep playing the new one. Caution, take their entire family with them, because you can't edit familial relationships in Cas once they were played. These are the steps I followed.

1. Save my Game
2. Save my game by a different name, just in case.
3. Sim quits their current job.
4. Edit the family in cas and save them to the library.
4. Start a new game and place the family in a home
5. Click on the phone to find a job and start at the bottom. They can then level up and choose the correct career branch. You can do it the hard way, or with cheats. careers.promote culinary
6. Enter Cas and save the family back into the library.

If you want to bring them back into your old game, you can re-introduce them from the library. They won't know anyone in town, but you can fix that with relationship cheats.

You would need to run the relationship cheat twice for each sim. Once with your sim first, and then second. Ex. Your Sim John Smith, John Smith your Sim
The first version changes how your sim feels about that person. The second one changes how they think about your sim.

I never saw that mod before. I did a search for career branch, and career. It never showed for either one, but I'm glad you pointed that out. It would make things easier for those wanting to keep their original saved game.
