Default Unroutable sim
Recently installed Hidden Springs, all was well except for stutters and brief pauses every few minutes; checked game settings, checked vid driver settings (doubted either was an issue since the problem was only on this world). The only other indication of an issue I didn't connect with the stutters since it didn't occur simultaneously with them - a message popping up every few minutes, "Unroutable sim found: Jeffrey Anderson". I tried to find him on the map and was taken to a street intersection near his home, but nothing to see there, Used MC to reset Mr Anderson, "Do you want to reset this sim and move them to a safe spot?", yes. MC closes, two minutes later, "Unroutable sim found: Jeffrey Anderson". So, much as I didn't like this option, I used MC to "Force Kill" him; got the message his marker was now in the mausoleum ....no more stutters and pauses, no more messages about "unroutable".

But was there a more elegant (less drastic, lol) way to handle this problem?

Well there is an fixed version for Hidden Springs that repairs town's broken routing system plus inside some houses: https://ellacharmed.wordpress.com/2...hidden-springs/ (that fix applies for the town itself).

You can try to:
1) Evict him, save the unoccupied house to the library, bulldoze the lot, place the same house back and get him back.
2) Install NRaas GoHere mod

Some sims are more prone to get stuck, and killing them sometimes is the best choice ;(

If you have NRAAS Overwatch it resets them, so that's why you can't find them in that spot unless you change the setting.

Depending on what the sim was trying to do, they would keep trying to route there, Overwatch rests them, and so on.

You will need to reset in the settings to False:
Stuck Check Auto-Reset
Whether to immediately reset any sim that is found to be "Stuck" during the "Stuck Check" interaction
Default: True

If you set it to False, it will still be there adn you might be able to find out what keeps the sim from routing properly.

Thanks for the input.

I do use Overwatch; have GoHere, but not yet installed.

Jeffrey lived with three other Andersons in a large home, don't know what he was up to but he was the only one being unroutable, again and again and again.

Looked at the fixed version (once had my cat fixed) but that requires too much legerdemain to continue a current game. (Will Porter move my sim's house, on which she has done some expensive upgrades? all her acquaintances, friends, good friends, old friends, impending romantic interests? Will it move all the lots/houses I've added for immigrants? I know I can do all this manually, but I am insufferably lazy ...and know moving lots doesn't always work.)

I agree that it's really annoying and takes a lot of time to transfer families with a ton of progress, but sometimes it is necessary because, over time, save files get corrupted and accumulate errors and cached data. So, transferring to a new save is always better for getting rid of bugs and making a new start. In case some of the progress gets lost in the process, you can always use cheat commands to restore things.

Well, all my saves are new, never overwriting old ones; I save every sim-day just after 3AM (when NRAAS does its vehicle removal); at the end of a play session I delete all but the two most recent saves and clear the caches; about every dozen saves I clean the save before loading it. So far I've had no issues I could blame on bad saves (knock on wood).

In fact the only corruption issues I've faced are with the loader, any world I've installed via the loader has to be uninstalled and reinstalled until I get a fully functional town (five times with Sunlit Tides, still has issues but is playable; Hidden Springs at first had nearly all public lots shown as "community lot" with the generic park bench icon, and flagged as "no visitors", the library didn't work because it wasn't on a library lot... I started to correct all this manually but decided to just uninstall/reinstall, and all was well except for Mr Anderson's antics, RIP).

I see that your tactics are pretty good and your definitely a skilled player!

Whenever you installing new world or something else via the laucher make sure you have deleted .tmp files in DCCache folder. Also delete everything in DCBackup except ccmerged. (You know these things, right?)

In case you don't have it, you should try Nraas Saver.

Edit: Also there are hidden cache files inside folders with the same name in every EP installation folder. You should delete the whole folder - these files are useless.

Have you tried NRaas Tagger? This mod can show what the sims are doing.
Maybe this is a clue of the routing problem.

I have Tagger, but not yet installed (I try to open one can of worms at a time).

Other than Jeffrey it seems most of the unroutable sims are immigrants - they have hyphenated last names, with one or both names being the surnames of my characters on other worlds.

I have deduced why my sim is occasionally flagged as unroutable and teleported home. Highly irritating and I would think there should be some way to prevent this. If I set my sim to pick up an item - wildflower, gem, space rock, Easter Egg, etc. - and another sim gets to it first, I become "unroutable" and sent home. I can think of two options, though no idea if either is feasible within the scripting of the game; 1 - when you click an item and select "pick up", that item immediately becomes unavailable to other sims; or, 2 - if another sim gets the item first, your sim skips that and goes to their next instruction, or waits for further instruction.

That's quite bizarre. Granted, I don't pick a lot of flowers, but I've never had that happen to an active sim.

Have you updated all your NRAAS mods yet?
