Default Sims cant go down to basement
Hi. I made a thread earlier but I cant seem to find it so I hope I can find this one later but um...anyways. Yeah...my sims can't go down to their basement and idk why...:/ It's weird...all their stuff is down there. I hope it's not because I covered it up...I mean I put stairs so they should be fine right? Because if it's that I'll be mad...because that's stupid. And Im sorry if Im double posting...PM me or something because Im new and I cant seem to be able to figure out how to find this after I post it lol.

Anyways...yeah thanks for at least trying

you need to make sure that your basement floor is at the right level. If your ceiling is to low your sims wont go down but you can still use connecting stairs and not no this. in your basement if you can build a wall from one side to the other the ceiling is correct if not you will need to go lower with the terrain tool

standerd wall height for a basement to wall connection is 16 clicks down with the terrain tool.

Are they waving their arms and having thought bubbles with footsteps in them? If so, the stairs could be buggy. Try deleting them and installing a new set.

Also, make sure that nothing is blocking the steps at the top and bottom.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

I'm having a similar problem...after installing pets...i have nl, ofb, uni also istalled...my prob is that the basements of lots (yes, more than one) downloaded from mts2 and put in the bluewater village neighborhood are flooded...filled with what looks like an ocean...sims won't go down there...how do i remove the water?

You need to make sure that the basements are to the correct depth- they need to be at least as deep as the wall segments.

Most likely this is due to placing a lot on a low lying terrain- some terrains, notably Bluewater and Veronaville, have areas of land which are at almost Sea level, so the basements flood when the lots are placed. The solution is to place the lot on a hill or on a different terrain.

ok thanks, I tried and put a lot on a different terrain, and it seemed to work, momentarily, so hopefully that's all it was...thanks again
