Default Can't put wallpaper on stage walls
Heyy .
So I have all the EPs and SPs , but somehow I can't paint the walls of stages . It seems to me that they are paintable , or are you supposed to use some cheat or something ?

In this tutorial you can clearly see that they can be painted .

Thank You in advance , I'm really confused and I thought the answer to this question would be somewhere , I googled and searched here but still couldn't find an answer to that .

That happens in my game too. I get it to work by selecting a wall paint and holding shift, then clicking "past" the stage wall and it usually paints the whole thing.

When I say "past" I mean dont click directly on the stage wall, you need to click under it above it or around it.

If that fails, try holding shift while clicking all around the stage on and off of its actual wall and it should eventually paint it.

I know thats confusing as hell, but its hard to explain with words.

Let me know if you get it to work.

Stages are really hard to paint. As SimArchitect says, you need to click not on the stage, but close to it. It can take minutes before it actually works. But once you know where to click, it'll get quicker.

I wonder why that is? It’s just like a regular foundation with a few different parameters to make it stack. You would think it would paint just fine. I’m assuming that everyone has this same problem; they just have adjusted to it being so irksome.

Is that a freestanding stage or enclosed by walls? I can never paint the side of a stage that's behind a wall (unless I tear down the wall first), but the "free" sides are easy to reach for me .. I usually shift-click from there.

It also must not be a fenced section of the stage

I have only OFB and Pets EP´s. I have no trouble of coloring the stage. Would a patch from the sims2 homepage help?

If the stage is connected to a wall it's very easy:
1) First you look for the wallpaper that fits the stage's wallpaper (it's in the walls-wood-section) and paint the wall (connected to the stage) the same way the stage is.
2) Then you choose the wallpaper you want to have and paint this wall while pressing the shift-key (= cover all the same way). Your stage will be covered with that wallpaper, too.
3) If you don't like the wall the same way painted as the stage, you just repaint the wall again in the other way.
No fiddling any more, very easy ...

Is there a rail on the stage? It seems I have had problems in the past when there are rails on the stage.

I have this problem when I add stairs, edging or anything else to a stage before painting it. I notice that as soon as I remove the stairs, edging, etc. it works just fine. Sometimes even flooring will cause a problem, so just paint the stage walls first and then add whatever else you need.

What Penchris said, I think that may fix your problem. He or she said it better than me.
