Default A quick question about fitness hobby.
Hi -- I just have one small question about Free Time! If a child sim has the fitness hobby, what will they be able to do for this hobby? I just came across someone who said that they can't jog. And if they can't use the weight machines either...what can they do? o.o;

They can swim in the pool and if you have Seasons, I think they can also go rollerblading/ice skating.

they can use the weight machines, and the new exercise bike. they can go jogging after they've reached level 3 enthusiasm for fitness, i think.

They can also use the Military Career reward.

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

Ooh, thanks everyone! I'm so excited now, I was really worried that children wouldn't be able to do anything for this one. Also, the only hobbies toddlers can prepare for are arts and crafts with the activity table, right?

toddlers can gain music and dance enthusiasm through the xylophone. i believe they can gain tinkering through the activity table as well.

And the blocks-through-the-holes toy gains science enthusiasm.

Music and dance can also be gained through learning and singing nursery rhymes.

The nursery rhyme is great They get music and dance enthusiasm as well as charisma skill points from learning it and singing it. Plus the learning process and the option for a parent to sing it with their infant has some really cute animations.

My newest downloads are on Simified.
Older downloads and stuff that didn't get transferred to Simified are on my Livejournal.

That's Sports, not Fitness.

I would like to clear up the little matter of my sanity as it has come into question. I am not in any way, shape, or form, sane. Insane? Hell yes!

People keep calling me 'evil.' I must be doing something right.

If you have BV, tai chi is also Fitness, I believe.

A lurking translator who goes stealthily converting text strings into finnish when he feels like doing that, which is very rarely.

for toddlers. If any sim plays music besides themselves like the music player or piano... etc. they can choose the dance option.

They just wiggle and shake there arms. But it is cute and gains them enthusiasm in music and dance.

If you want your kids to go jogging, etc, the best way I've discovered to do that is to have a parent that's interested in the same hobby as them also get enough enthusiasm to jog/hike and then the two of them can go together.

If a parent gets a membership into the hobby clubs, then they can take their kids along with them who also have membership in the hobbies. That helps if you have families that are geared toward specific hobbies and you want them to go off lot to work on their enthusiasm.

Toddlers:

craft table: drawing a picture nets Arts & Crafts, and building with blocks builds Tinkering.

toy xylophone, nursery rhyme, dancing to the radio: Music & Dance

the red block peg toy that builds logic is good also for Science enthusiasm.

Reading to toddlers helps with Film & Literature.

Not sure yet how to build enthusiasm for Sports, Games, or Nature (can toddlers catch butterflies?) yet for toddlers.
