Default Best Friends Forever? Is that new?
Okay, so while my girl Imogen was taking a bath and her husband was at work, I decided to look at her memories. I see the memory 'Made a BFF!'. It's a golden, shiny version of Best Friends. It says something about because sometimes just best friends isn't enough. They were married, so there relationships were already high. I'm guessing its the 'Love' version of the friends relationship side. Was this mentioned in any chat logs or announcements? Because I don't remember.

Back from the dead. Even though nobody cares.

Best Friends Forever is exactly what you think it is. It's not about Love at all. if you're best friends with someone for two days, you become their BFF. Your Daily and Lifetime Relationship doesn't degrade as much, you can ALWAYS call your BFF on the phone, you get some special actions.. that's.. pretty much it.

Sorry to butt in but I'm just curious... What are those special actions? Is there some new interactions?

Ugh... 'BFF' is so American.

You get a special greeting (If your Sim is outside when your BFF comes over, you'll run over and hug him/her).
You also get the "Inside Joke" interaction

the best thing about BFFs is that sims use the word OMG at the relationship panel lol

Err.....so one can assume strong, long-term friendships are rare where you live? You have no local equivalent of the concept?! What a very sad place to live!

I actually see or hear the "BFF" term more on the Internet (once on television in a manner to mock netspeak) than anywhere else. Of course the Internet is more global, so I could blame the existence of the term "BFF" on the entire world. I personaly do not care for the term "BFF"; I do not use it and no American or non-American I know uses it.

I have always seen it presented as "pre-teen"--ish netspeak term, not specifically an American term.....unless the concept of strong, long-term friendships are in fact lost on non-American parts of the world.

I don't mind if you call me "MSD" or something for short.

The BFF thing, if you read the game tips, it actually says that the relationships between BFFs are easy to maintain, also the BFFs can't get mad at eachother. And I guess they have "inside jokes" too.

EDIT: I guess hkellick pretty much explained it. And BFF is only an abbreviated term...

Aw, I think that the 'BFF' concept is cute! I like how it makes relationships easier to maintain. It should make it a whole lot easier for my popularity sims.

Well, maybe that's just because I don't retch inside at the thought of using teenage slang in the game. I am a teenager, after all :P

Can you have more than one BFF? I'm sure you can but just wanted to make sure.

I wish they could have another new relationship: FWB (Friends With Benefits). LOL

I don't have Freetime yet, but I think the concept of BFF sounds cool. It seems like how I would actually act with my best friend in real life. I don't really care for the name, but I'll get over it.

Well, FWB would help Romance Sims a lot and it would serve as fulfilling certain wants. It would also eliminate jealousy which also eliminates "furious" state and you no longer have to worry about stolen newspapers and trash cans being knocked over, lol.

Somehow, my favorite teen sim Sabine ended up with 3 BF's, and TEN BFF's!

She just loves everyone, I guess, lol.

BF = Boyfriend? That is what BF usually means.

It usually does, but I think she meant "best friend" in this case. :] And I love the idea of BFFs! So cute. When I was poring over everything Free Time related I could find, I saw it mentioned, but I thought it was "Lifetime Friend" or something like that...

I meant best friends...but as a matter of fact, she does have quite a few potential suitors as well.

I gotta say she is probably the prettiest born in game Sim I have ever had. I have to post her one of these days.
