Default Extracted Sims2 families
Does anyone know where I can download the Maxis made families? I like to play Belladonna Cove but would like to play some of the maxis families that are in the other neighbourhoods.

Example: The Brokes, Pleasents etc.

Thanks

Well, you could extract them yourself... There's some great tutorials around on how to do this.

But here are a couple of useful links:

This page recently was opened up to the public: http://community.livejournal.com/maxis_taste/12428.html. You can get clean versions of Pleasantview families here.

You can also grab all the Pleasantivew playables, both regular and gender swapped from here: http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/s...0d&topic=6843.0

If anyone sends you to Sims2Estates - DON'T put those families into your game. They come with ripped character files and have corrupt memories and file fragments attached to the families. They will cause your hood to go corrupt. Best to grab them from the 2 links above or extract the sims you want yourself. Also - do not follow anyone's advice to generate new copies of the hoods and move occupied lots into the lots and houses bin. This will also cause problems for whichever neighborhood you move the occupied lot into. You should only move sims extracted with SimPE and then cloned in Bodyshop into your hoods.

If you would like to play all hoods in one, check out Hysterical Paroxysm's Uber Megahood on MTS2.

My newest downloads are on Simified.
Older downloads and stuff that didn't get transferred to Simified are on my Livejournal.

Hi--I don't normally go there, but while I was searching, I found a bunch of the original stuff on the Exchange. You can search for the sims individually, by name, or I also found someone who has the houses with the families on the lot. So all of their ties should still be intact, if that's of interest to you, that is.

I guess I still haven't posted 5 times yet, because this site won't let me give you a link, but you can find those lots posted by TrixiesHistory, at the Exchange.

Hope this helps!

The other alternative is that you could always try the Maxis Make Overs at LL30 Sims for the individual sims and then recreate/link the family relations in CAS (if you dont mind the hard work)?

I'd be very careful when grabbing houses full of sims from the Exchange or anywhere for that matter. If the family was not cleaned up properly you'll just end up killing the hood you put them into. You should not download sims already on lots if you do not know if the creator cleaned them up properly so they don't come with ripped character files and uncleaned memories and file fragments attached.

Much safer to grab the individual sims from where I linked you before or from LL30's Maxis Makeover section and then restoring their relationships in CAS yourself.

Good point Engram. The lots I mentioned above, say in their descriptions that they've never been played, but you bring up an excellent point I missed in not reading your first post in its entirety. :doh I'm glad you reiterated that!

Thanks Engram. I think I'll try and find a tutorial and try to extract them from SimPE myself.

Here you go: http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=94489

The pictures are missing but the tutorial is fairly simple so you should be able to follow easily enough.

I would be more than happy to extract them for you if you run into any problems. We have a lot of Maxis Sims over at our site, but not the Belladonna Cove ones *yet*.
