Has anyone got there fat Sims to lose weight. That would be an interesting story to tell. How much did you have to work out??

I haven't managed to get a Sim skinny, but left unplayed with story progression on, plenty of my skinnier Sims ended up really fat!

It's not fun, don't marry a fat NPC thinking you'll stick him in the body sculptor or edit him in cas and that'll be that. It won't. Between body sculptor, fast metabolism AND working out everyday I can keep his weight down. If I miss one day of working out he balloons up again.

We're looking into a solution to simultaneously satisfy two conflicting, yet identical desires. The current behavior is essentially a conflict between the same goal: The desire for a player to have a sim look the way he wants it to. On one hand, if you create a sim, you want that sim to STAY that way, and not end up with a neighborhood of all identical sims...but on the other hand, when you DO something to change things, you also don't want the game forcing the situation back against your will, making anything you do futile.

An answer will come soon.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

I had a sim that was at the very fat end of the scale, I wnt to the gym and worked out all night on the treadmill (good pacing, high skill) and they got to a healthy weight by the end of the workout

Getting them down isn't the issue, keeping them down is. They pop back to their default size like a stretched rubber band.

This is doing my head in at the moment, but in the opposite direction. Cycl0n3 Sw0rd is very skinny. I beef him up and buff him out and then if he doesn't stuff himself everyday and then spend 6 hours at the gym he is skinny again the next day. Tedious. I haven't had a majorly fat sim yet so I cannot comment on that, but you have pretty much answered my question.

I started my sim off VERY fat, then made her workout nonstop until she had level 10 body skill, THEN kept working her until she fulfilled all the challenges. I hardly ever work her out anymore, and she's still trim and fit. Note, her body type did not magically become that super skinny anorexic small frame thing. She has a medium/large frame, but with no rolls of fat or jello arms. She looks in shape. So... well, for what it's worth.

Whats strange is, that I have the opposite result. My sims usually stay the exact way I work them too. I've actually never had a sim that became fat after I made her thin.

I actually haven't encountered that problem either. I think my sims lose weight too easily and keep it off very easily as well.

I've noticed that using the treadmill helps them lose weight waaay faster than lifting weights. I've never noticed a difference with weights, but it seems like two consecutive days of running on the treadmill gets them pretty fit.

I made my first sim as fat as possible, and played her as such throughout her young adult years. In that time she joined the culinary career track so it's only fitting she likes to eat. Married her off to a slightly pudgy man and forced her to jog to work daily. She instantly slims down when working out but balloons when she changes into her nightgown. She's never gotten as big as she originally was but I just figure she has fat genetics and has to really work to fight it off. What I found really funny was she had a child when she was skinny, and he turned out to be a porker too.

I don't mind the way the system works, it's a little quirky but adds some character to my sims.

well, my sims married an NPC who VERY VERY fat i managed to get him down to skinny-ish after him working out everyday afterwork, and making sure he walked EVERYWHERE, haha it got quite hilarious watching him hike from one side of the neighbourhood to the other :D. After that he was quite skinny but i have to keep him working out so he won't get fat again. Argh the joys of having a sim who refuses to have a relationship with almost anyone, for some reason, he was the only one she liked xP ...... and i had the same thing as the person above, both parents were quite skinny when they had their first child, but shes chubby too.

Everything sucks, until it doesn't.

I had my chubby sim spend most of her day running on the tredmill, and she's skinny now. I make her exersize every day now, mainly because she has wants to exersize for hours on end.

If we expect the unexpected, does that make it the expected?

First, level your sim's body to a level that he/she can train sims on treadmill.

Second, edit the gym - add more treadmills and other machines. Or, other items like a bed in case your sim needs it.

You can have your sim visit the lot and invite fat sims to come.

When they come, click to train them.
Sims will begin to lose weight.

Btw, once you click to train them, and the targeted sim begins to walk toward the machine, cancel the action on your active sim. The targeted sim (the fat one) will still begin to work out, and your active sim can do whatever he/she needs to do - chat on the phone, play chess, write report/novel, ..., etc.

I made a really fat, bald sim and selected his life want to be a sports star or whatever. He wanted to work out all the time so he did. He spend more time at the gym than at his house and he's mr skinny buff dude now. ...He's still bald though!

I made my self sim skinny to begin with figuring I'd just let her gain weight later, since I was going to do the athletic skill first.

However, I made the mistake of gettting her the Fast Metabolism lifetime award, and now I can't get her to stay fat. I couldn't get her to stay fat in the first place though anyway. She kept bouncing back like a rubber band. So now she is super scrawny all the time. Btw, I know this is a little off topic, but is there any way of getting rid of the awards after they have them? I'd like to lose the fast metabolism award so I can try to get her fat. Not that I expect it to work.

Seems to me that whatever you made them like in CAS, the sims stay that way.
