Default Sims 3 Music Career
In the Skills area you can bring up a box and there is one for the guitar skill or music career that says you have to play at 10 parties in town.

What happens if you compete this and do these parties have to be your own? My Sim hasn't been invited to a party so I assume they have to play the guitar at their own parties in the town?

Also, can anyone tell me anything about what happens when you reach the top? Of the Music career that is.

Thanks.

When you reach level 6 of the Music career you will be offered the choice between the Rock Branch and the Symphony Branch- If you pick Rock - the top of the Career is Rock Star and job performance and salary are based on the number of concerts you perform at the arena and the theater in town- this actually starts at level 7 - Lyricists and you will no longer have regular working hours once you are at level 10. You will also have the ability at level 10 to sign autographs for fans at the arena and at the theater which makes you money

In the symphonic branch level 10 is Hit Movie Composer- You will have normal working hours but still get the ability to sign autographs and play at parties

In other words, there's the good branch of the job, and the bad branch.

Like the thief job.

It depends on what you Want- Rocks Stars- how much money you make is dependent on the number of concerts you perform- no regular working hours = less money if you don't work a number of concerts equivalent to your normal working hours. Hit Movie Composer has regular hours and regular pay and regular pay raises meaning that you have a regular income coming in. So it depends on what you consider to be bad
