Default How do i get ALL the skill challenges instantaneously?
How could i get all the skill-related challenges (how the skills themselves!) all accomplished right away w/ a click of a button? I really like their benefits, but w/ the bugs in this game, it's almost impossible to attain them all and enjoy them for the rest of the game's span (meaning, when the next bug hits, ur gonna have to restart the game, i.e. new game...)

I got 1 saved game that i achieved ALL (not some) of these challenges and it had fallen to the knife of the villainous music bug. The music in the save is permanently dead, so now i'm starting anew and i DON'T want to waste 1 month to reachieve those challenges again. I like their benefits, so that's why I'm asking.

Can someone show me how i can mod the game to do this?

BIG NOTE, VERY BIG====> DO NOT GET THIS MIXED UP WITH LIFE TIME REWARD POINTS OR WITH MAXIMIZING ALL THE SKILLS OUT. THIS IS ABOUT THE SKILL CHALLENGE.

Well i don't really understand if you want to have all of the challenged to complete again or you would like to have the rewards from them. If its the first then i dont think the game will let you because you can only have 1 per category at a time.

What are you talking about? What rewards?

Let me make it even clearer. Please follow:

1) Start sims 3.

2) Go play on a certain family.

4) Choose a sim.

5) With a chosen sim, click on his/her skills tab.

6) If you have not learned a skill yet, there shouldn't be anything there.

7) Once in the skill tab, click on a skill, you should see statistics relating to those skills listed such as, "meals prepared," or "money earned from playing guitar."

8) Look under those statistics, you should see challenges (yeah, this is what I'm referring to, THESE challenges). There should be stars next to each challenge. They should be faded out if you haven't completed them.

My problem is how do i get ALL of those challenges without doing what it's asking, like through a hack or mod or something. It takes A LONG TIME to achieve those challenges.

Oh, those. I have not seen a mod out there for that, but i have seen mods that make them easier for example one changes the money you need instead of $20,000 from earning on guitar.

I believe that if you really want a mod that does what you say... i.e. one that gives you the challenges, and then completes them instantly... that would be a script mod, which would mean you would need programming skills to achieve it. If you have those skills, then it's a matter of delving into the game code to see how challenges are currently handled, and replacing those scripts.

I'm not aware of any existing mod that modifies the challenge/opportunity system, which means you're on virgin territory here; you'd have to do all the code-diving yourself. Of course, I could have overlooked something

If what you want really is just the REWARDS from the challenges, though, then why not just cheat your way there, and/or use Tiger's Neighborhood Workshop to edit your savegame? A mod such as you describe is a massive cheat anyway.

I don't know exactly what all of the skill challenge rewards are, but there are various mods available here and elsewhere that make special objects buyable (e.g. the plants you get from the gardening chain), and built-in cheats for money and skill points and so on, and additional cheats available from mods that unlock the debug menu. For more information about all that, I'd advise visiting the gameplay forum: http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=561

Well, if you're looking for specific game mods, the place is the WCIF forum actually Or better yet, take some initiative and search our downloads area and use Google.

But for game cheats, the gameplay forum is the place.

On the other thread you stated that you have Marcelo's Generator. You can mod this yourself using it. Use the search function and search for words like "prolific" or "speed" as in speed writer or prolific painter. It doesn't work searching for challenge 'cause they're not called challenges, lol.

Here's an example from the plugin Fishing:
kNumberOfFishForCommercialFisherman 350.0

Change this value to 1.0 and it takes 1 fish caught to complete the challenge.

Here's from PaintingSkill plugin:
Number of brilliant paintings sim needs to paint to get Prolific Painter achievement 6.0
Number of masterpiece paintings sim needs to paint to get Master Painter achievement 5.0

I would actually suggest changing both of the above to 1.0, so that you need to paint one to complete the challenge. It doesn't say anything about the valid range of the values you're changing, zero might not be a valid number, in which case you would disable the challenge completely I think, while mod and game are still going.

Writing plugin has this one and maybe the other two:
Total money earned from royalties to become a speed writer. 30000.0
Change this to 100.0 or something.

One thing you have to think about is that if you use the Speedy Skill books mod or similar while playing, such mod may use stuff from these same resources you're using, so you're making a mod here which might conflict with such mods. In which case what you do is move the 2 mods back and forth in your game using only one at a time, depending on the situation. Happy modding!
