Default Casual Sex?!?!?
Today I have encountered something upmost interesting:

I have a family in which the head of family is of a shady evil branched criminal, a mafia boss. Yet his daughter, a young adult, is a good girl who wishes nothing to do with her "family business". She carries many good traits such as Good, Hardworking, etc... and Hopeless Romantic. Her life time wish is to be a surgeon, saving people (perhaps victims of her father's syndicate). Ok enough with the fancy intro.

I decided to add a bodyguard for a family so I made a male sim who is Brave, Loner, etc... nothing related to Romance or Flirty. He is supposed to stay home all day (until I can figure out how to make him driving people around). He had a few chances to socialize positively with the mafia daughter, although no where close to romance yet.

I say what the heck, try making them to woohoo. The daughter was relaxing on her double bed watching TV, Mr. bodyguard walked in to use the computer (by free will). So I made him "relax" on her bed to watch TV and chat as well. He didn't seem to reject. While both relaxing on bed, the Woohoo option appeared, so I thought I would try, knowing for sure either one would refuse. Strangely, they went on with it!

Yet, they did not become love interest: no heart icon in relationship. I tested by making them bath/shower while both were in the same bathroom: They shoo each other out. Yet, when I replicated the steps to make them woohoo, they still went through with it while remaining friends.

I have awesome mod only. Neither of these sims carry any trait remotely relevant to be a flirty swinger. Well, the girl has Hopeless Romantic, if that is close. Casual sex? Friends with benefit? (they manage to remain friends the entire time, I can not even make them to Kiss or do anything beyond friend level). Yet, they don't mind Woohoo one bit.

Interesting? Bug? I just hope they don't do it on their own and get a baby. Luckily I play with Story Progression off, or else it would explain why some players keep complaining they do not know where some babies came from or their biological fathers.

I work for a living, but I don't necessarily live for a working.

Yes, I noticed that too. The bed woohoo seems to work differently from say talk woohoo option, the sims seem to accept it more easily. It's also possible to just click on the bed and the option for woohoo appears.

I've noticed this too, I think it's really good as it's more like real life!

They can woohoo on community lots without falling in love so it makes sense that they can do the same thing at home.

It's different when there's somebody on the bed waiting for you. lol

How often you see 2 normal people just meet, talk about some books, and suggest out of the blue: "I notice they placed a couple beds in this Starbucks store, you wanna have sex real quick?" I know in real life people do tend to like one night stand, certain people. But it is more obvious, they flirt with each other, get in the right mood, and rent a hotel room. In this case, it is more like another simple social interaction like "get a coffee", "have a chat", and while at it, "let's woohoo". And afterward, the female can sue the guy for walking in while she is using the toilet.

It is kind of a double standard unless TS3 culture invents social "woohoo" so casual and common like saying "Hello". We start hearing the husband fighting with the wife: "what are you jealous about? I just woohoo with my secretary in the office during lunch, not like I love her, kiss her, or sexually involved with her. It is just woohoo, for god sake, she can't even sue me for sexual harrassment for doing that."

Often I find it hard to make excuses for me to place any kind of beds on community lots. 1. I try to make a motel, and 2. I build a private tiny office for employees.

I work for a living, but I don't necessarily live for a working.

I made apartments on community lots. The sims can use them fully, just like on residential lots, except for the kitchen stoves. Suits me fine, especially when there is no building or objects on their lot and the bills come really cheap. As for how easy it is to woohoo on the community lots beds, I think it's useful if you want to make a brothel or something similar.

Instead of brothels, I was attempting to make swinger joint. Was not successful in TS2, and too early for TS3 to tell.

In a way, I wish we had more woohoo options, like the bathtub in TS2. Also with the single bed and the couch.

You could woohoo in the bathtub? (Just remembered... the hot tub)

I did notice it being easier to woohoo with both being in bed. But I only did this with a married couple. (LOL... I have had non married couples have sex. But ya know... they were the only ones I tried that with.)

That is pretty weird. I do see that it is sort of life like though... before you used to have to practically make them friggin fall in love with each other just too get some action. Maybe that was one extreme, and this has fallen into the other extreme. I do see alot of people like that in life... I don't associate with them, but their actions are as obvious as they want them to be, whether i'm friends with them or not. What sort of annoys me is that if the littlest thing is wrong with one of the sims, they wont woohoo for crap. and then one gets out of bed, and than the other, and they go in circles until it's to late and it's bed time. I kind of feel that with your observation, and mine, in combination it's pretty dumb. I miss all the other woohoo options too... there's no clothes store so no changing room woohoo. I miss the photobooth too... that was pretty neat. I would put one in my sims house just for "fun" haha.

Does this mean you can make a lot with "hotel rooms" and sims can just go there for a quick playtime? That's pretty cool.

The latest patch fixes the casuel wohoo in bed.Sims will turn it down now unless their atleast romantic interest. Also before the patch friends could kiss, makeout and cuddle on the sofa and bed.Now when they go to kiss or makeout in bed or on the sofa they become romantic interest.

They can still however cuddle on the sofa without falling in love and they can still wohoo and try for a baby in the theater, science meseum and other places without falling in love.

Ugh, screw the god damn patches!

They patch out the perfectly fine grim reaper woohoo and babie. They patch out the ability to have casual no-frills sex.

Next patch probably removes the ability to pick styles for objects, and the one after that will remove the ability to save your freaking game.

oddly enough, ive had instances where my sims would engage in casual sex with strangers at the community locations [ city hall, theater ] but not in bed. o_O;

Oh yes, I send my sims on wild woohoo sessions with perfect strangers at the theater just for fun, cause touring the damn building is so freakin boring.

Yes you can woohoo without getting a romantic interest but if you kiss ONCE it's hearts and flowers.

And hopeless romantic is the furthest thing from casual flirty swingers. They want to fall in love before even becoming friends. Commitment issues trait is good way to keep them out of love.

I found that if your sims are best friends they can do everything romantically together and no little heart. My best friends made out, kissed, flirted, woohooed, and the only time a little heart showed was after they "confessed attraction". I figured by that point they shouldn't have to confess it...it's obvious! lol

How do they woohoo at community locations?!?!?

Late dawns and early sunsets just like my favorite scenes
Then holding hands and life was perfect just like up on the screen

Select a location like city hall or the theatre and an option comes up "Take tour with... ". After both sims go into the building you can select woohoo or try for baby. Sometimes you also get the option to do those things with some random sim who just happens to be in the building.

Once my sims got busted woohooing in the theatre and they both ran out naked!

I don't know why, but the first thing that popped into my head at your comment was "OH EM GEEZ, LOVE AFFAIR BETWEEN THE COFFEE CLERK AND THE BIG CEO!?!?!?"

I've never actually made my sims woohoo on a community lot. Definently something to put on my to do list.

It's sort of seems a bit like the Sims 2 to me. It depends on the level of attraction between them. if they are not really going to match up well you can get away with more flirting and more interactions before you get an atraction rating. It also depends on time. I made 2 sims a couple and then let them have NO interaction with each other besides working the same jobs. The heart icon eventually dropped after about 9 days of play time which is rediculous. If i had coupled them up hard with tons of interaction till it was maxed they wouldn't fall back out of love for like 27 days. Which is a pretty good chunk of the young adult adult time span.
