Default Martial Arts Tournament Opportunity: What Do I Do?
My Sim is a level 10 in Martial Arts, and a level 2 in the Tournament. While at home in Riverview, though, she recently received an opportunity to represent Riverview at a Tournament. I thought it would be a nice opportunity and accepted.

The first instruction was to go to Shang Simla. So much for a Riverview tournament, but I was game. When I got there, though, nothing happened. The instructions under the Opportunity screen simply state "Win Tournament". Nothing about where or when the Tournament would be, no handy "go here" markers when I go to bird-eye view of the town. I even tried calling up the contender on the cell phone, like you do for normal Tournament, but the option isn't even there.

Has anyone else had this opportunity? If so, what did you do? How did you go about it? It's been three days, and nothing has happened, and my poor Sim is just fooling around and meeting locals, practicing at the Academy, finishing quick China adventures (through the Adventure Board at base camp), etc. I'm only there for eight days, and I'm starting to get worried! Someone help, please!

This also happened to me, wandering around not knowing what to do. Then I realized I was a fool thinking a tournament would be held in a stadium. I mean, what kind of tournament would be in a stadium? Me and my foolish ideas, what did I have in my mind? All I had to do was finding someone and fight for the tournament, then after winning, my opportunity was fullfilled.
After that I went to the psychiatrist to tell him I thought tournaments are held in stadiums, he laughed and then gave me some pills, now I don't think it anymore, although I'm pretty sure someone is spying on me....

Nothing's real. Nothing's unreal either.
The frontier between true and untrue is a shady fuzzy line.
Destiny, or maybe the long flight's time-span, shall decide the issue.

Hi! I don't remember where it is at the moment. But there is a site in China that you go to for the tournaments. I noticed it while I was wandering around trying to find a tomb. It is sort of a hill, with a flat top. It said something about tournament grounds or something. I haven't had this opportunity come up for my Sims yet. Those I'm sure they are just itching to do it. They have been teaching all of their friends martial arts & sparring with them. Hope you find the place in time. SEJ

Did you try calling to invite the next tournament opponent over? That worked for one of my tournament missions.

Ha! Finally figured it out! I did need to call the next contender -- but instead of in the main phone menu, like it's always been, it was under "Call Sim ..." Thanks, all! :D

Please don't hijack somebody else's thread with a completely different question :/ Start your own thread, if you can't find the answer in one of the Dragon's Maw threads already on the forum.

She should appear at your sim's location after a couple of minutes. If she doesn't, try visiting her where she is.

Go to the Academy in China. There is a martial arts sparring ring there. It's up above the back yard.

if you go to the Academy and call from there, the next sparring partner will come to the Academy to meet you, it may take some time, and they may just go into the front room and stand there. Go to the mat or any open area and keep an eye out for them. When they arrive, call them over, then choose "spar in a ranked match" (or something like that). You don't have to be on the "mat area" but being in an open spot like that helps to keep you from having to re-adjust your positions 55 times before you spar.

Ugh I have been trying to get this challenge done but I cannot seem to get the option to spar or compete with the sim I call over. I have tried inviting them everywhere in Shang Simla but the option just isn't there. any ideas?

I think you have to have a certain level in Martial Arts before you can spar (not sure what level, but I know I wasn't getting the option for a while either).

Being assigned broken tournament contenders is a bug. You will need AwesomeMod to fix it.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

My very first contender is a merchant sim who runs the food shop. Every time I call (anytime from sunrise to night) she says she is at work, so I went to her shop to challenge her but the option never appears until after my sim has been hanging around her shop all day and is tired. Then the option appears but is grayed out with the tag "You're sim is fatigued". Is there anyway to change my opponent or get around this?? I've been trying everything I can think of for days!

Could your sim be pregnant? If so they won't have the option to spar.
