Default Moveobjects cheat outside the own lot?
Hi there,

is there a way to use the "moveobjects on" cheat outside the own lot?
I wanted to make a picture with my Sim's kids swimming in the river in Rivertown. I enabled moveobjects, but when I switch to the buy mode to pick up my Sims, the game automatically locks the view onto my house/lot.
Is there a way to circumvent this behaviour?

Not as far as I know, no.

I guess you could try the teleport command to move controllable sims somewhere they couldn't normally go -- testingcheatsenabled true, then shift-click where you want them to end up. Don't know if that will let you put kids in the river, though.

Hmm, I haven't tried this for moving sims, but it's possible to enter buy/build mode on community lots... wouldn't work if you're out on the map, though, would have to be on a lot. With testingcheats enabled, shift-click the ground and choose "buy here" or "build here". It's conceivable that with that on, and moveobjects, you could move a sim on a community lot.

Thanks, I'll try it. Too bad that there's no real other option.

Maybe it should work by just adjusting the camera/buy mode settings, but I don't have any clue how to do it. There's nothing in the ini files that looks like it's responsible for what I want to do. =/
