Default Suggested Tomb-Raiding Order
From what you've played so far, what would you suggest as an adventuring gameplan, to go from simplest to most complex adventures?

I've only done the first in China and France. Neither were "hard" really, but both were fun. I would like to ensure I start with the easiest ones regardless, though.

I've read that France is supposed to be easiest, and egypt hardest, but is that right? France is also most expensive, which seems odd for the easiest one...

As an adventuring "Gameplan", you need to do China first, because all the prerequisites needed to adventure effectively are unlocked from China: You need the Pangu Axe, for smashing boulders, and the Kung Fu skill, for defeating mummies. Therefore, you must advance in China first.

However, the quest chains tend to have you hopping back and forth, as you will frequently receive quests that cannot be accomplished unless you go to another vacationland. The main China quest chain, for instance, runs in China until you get up to the axe, then takes you to France. In France, I have encountered a bunch of quests that will send you to Egypt, so the order is apparently China -> France -> Egypt.

As for difficulty, none of them are really DIFFICULT and France has relatively few tombs to explore, probably because it is the most "familiar" out of all the settings, being most similar to the base hood in terms of mechanics.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

The fist time I played a character in WA I started in France because I had read it was the easiest tombs. (plus I wanted all the grapes for my perfect gardener) After playing through that sim a while I kept running into those boulders, both in france and Egypt, so I starter over again with the same character (a saved version before any quests) in a new neighborhood and did China first. I must say that it is better to complete China first to get the Ax. If you don't you run into the problem of having to remember/revisit tombs and sites again to get the last of the treasure.

Hmmm. I see. That kinda sucks because I'm not a fan of China, the layout aggrivates me. I haven't encountered a boulder yet so I had no idea about the axe. Also who the hell breaks boulders with an axe?

I don't think there's really a easy/hard ranking. France for instance has the (completely optional) Faerie tomb, whatever it's called, that's kind of a bitch. The Chateau there is not easy either. There's a variety in all three areas.

Egypt definitely has the MOST tombs, followed by China, and then France.

Egypt has the Tear of Horus at the Special Merchant, which is VERY useful... shows dig sites and relics on map, which among other things makes it easy to spot tomb areas you might have overlooked. The Thief's Coin from China is good too.

I actually thing the best strategy might be to cycle among all three.

My first WA Sim cycled among all three destinations until a French adventure started that inter-destination questing Pescado mentions above. However, my second WA Sim is sticking with China until she gets Pangu's axe or learns to zeneport.

The way I'm playing: China, Egypt, France

What every adventurer needs:
-Pangu Axe
-Thief's Coin
-Escape Powder
-Eye of Horus
-Mummy Snacks

The great thing about the Pangu Axe is that it also clears rubble piles instantly, although your Sim has probably already cleared the rubble challenge anyways.

Another need, once you have the proper visa level, is the Escape Powder. Usually I'm running one final adventure in the last six hours of my Sim's vacation. If you get the whatever relic and need to deliver it to someone, the powder will get you out fast if you a nowhere near the door, saving time.

And you can always buy mummy snacks in Egypt if you want to avoid mummies.

What does this "Thief's Coin" do? I was fishing in Egypt and my Sim simply found a 'Master Thief's Coin' in the pond. Is this the thief's coin to which you're referring to?

Theifs Coin makes finding ancient coins and money easier. That, or it makes what you DO find worth more. I don't remember which- probably the second, as I can't imagine the item would generate different items in the tomb.

Of course, most ancient-coined items are of limited use, so you will quickly get more than you actually have any need for.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.

True, the special merchant needs more items worth buying!
