If you installed it as a sims3pack, then you need to uninstall it with the launcher and then clear your caches - as per here: Game Help:Sims 3 Crashing#Delete_Cache_Fileswiki.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

Do you just delete it from your downloads? Or uninstall it? You need to uninstall it,otherwise its still in your game.

I believe Delete from the Downloads view merely deletes the Sims3Pack from the Downloads folder.

You need to go to the Installed Content view in the launcher (check the buttons on the left), select the item(s) you want to uninstall with a checkmark, and then hit the Uninstall button. And, finally, delete the cache files.
