Default Remove money from a Sim
Is it possible to remove all the money from a Sim? I used the money cheat to give him a lot of money so I could buy a house and furnish it and whatnot, but now I would like to get rid of all his money so that I can actually play as him without being cheap.

familyfunds <household_name> <amount>

Set the amount to 0, or whatever value you want.

Cheers.

I could never get this cheat to work either, and I've tried from both Edit Town and Live Mode. I have to use MC to remove funds from a family.

You have to set testingcheatsenabled true before using familyfunds.

If you don't have mods, or prefer not to use a "cheat," you can always go the grocery store, buy a lot of fish, and use them to stock a pond.

Click HERE please, so I can up the sweet sweet page count. Thanks!

You can also buy a bunch of expensive things and then put them in the family inventory. Funny enough, I originally got that idea from The Sims Social.

Dont they consign them?

Some people have a Guardian Angel, you know a little guy sitting on your shoulder that tells you right from wrong, but mine is an Idiot.

You can also use ani's Money Bag (http://linna.modthesims.info/download.php?t=392460), I often buy a bunch of this and give it as gifts to my lovers around the town.

I mistakenly deleted my bro's game so I've been trying all day to get his family back to where they were before he wakes up.

took a long time but finally got this code to work.

the only way I managed was to have a copy of the family already in a cheap home and then use the code while in 'Choose a Household' mode, every other way I attempted to add or remove funds with this code failed to work.

If your trying to move a family into a house they cannot afford, there is always the FreeRealEstate cheat. Please look it up before you type it in though because I always type it in wrong myself. It does work and it's great when you don't want to add more money and you just want them to be in a specific home.
Necaradan, if you deleted his family, did you try to look to see if there was a back up save in the save folder? There usually is, it's the same name as the other save but it ends in .backup You just edit the name and remove the .backup and that save will be usable.
I hope this helps anyone know might need it.

If you deleted it, shouldn't there be a .backup file in the saves folder somewhere? (i.e.- <save name here>.sims3.backup) You could've taken off the .backup extenstion and the save would've been in the list ingame. Once your brother saves the game again, another .backup should be created.

Yeah, but it's more fun to waste an entire day hoping to recreate the sim family right up to the point you accidentally deleted it, and hope it's close enough that your brother won't notice the different hairstyle you inadvertently picked for one of the sims.

Yeah I know.. but it doesn't help if you delete the entire folder.

Did you happen to delete it in the Recycle Bin too?
