Default Binge eating
I've just had a massive birthday party with 10 guests, where I aged up 3 of my sims at once. It was a smashing success, but the aftermath was messy as could be expected. There are drinks, deserts, and plates of lobster thermidors and cakes all over the place.

Not a big deal, I thought. The maid will clean it up when she comes. So I left it at that. But somehow one of my sims decided to take it upon herself to clean the mess -- BY EATING THEM ALL.

This is an Athletic and extremely fit sim, but before I noticed, she was already obese within an hour or 2. Note that this isn't her auto-queue to "grab a slice" from the "blow out candles" interaction, since I cancelled all of them before. She simply decides to eat and eat and eat. Meanwhile, my other sims are staying perfectly sober and were going about their usual business.

Just weird. Has anyone had this before?

Yes, and thats why, if the party is a birthday, I do two things.
1. If guest bring food, I put them in the fridge
2. If its a multiple birthday, the moment the frist person ages up, I have the second sim age up, this will cancel all get cake interactions, and I can then proceed to put the first cake into the fridge.

This way, people still have one cake to consume, and thats enough.

Ive had slim people fatten up before I started doing this, of course there is nothing much to do when I have the party in a community lot with a buffee table.

Couldn't you just squash any "grab plate" actions and keep her busy with something else? :/
The only thing similar to that I've had happen where my Sim would chow down on food rations in her inventory until she got the "overstuffed" moodlet. And I was like, "noooo stop you'll be fat!" T^T

I've never had a sim get fat of their doing but I really want it to happen. I think I'm too controlling of my sims, I don't leave them alone long enough for them to have the chance to stuff their faces.

Hey, el flel, it's hard to get them *not* to do it. Just throw a couple of parties, or let them hang around Hogans when their motives are high. If you put food in front of them that they can't put away, they will eat it. And every once in a while, they'll launch into a binge like the OP describes.

Binges seem to be pretty random. It would be cool if they were linked to some trait or combination of traits, but they don't seem to be.

Sims with the insane trait will randomly eat ingredients stored in their inventory, regardless of needs/motives.
I've yet to see this happen to sims without that trait, but again, I tend to be a bit of a control freak <_<

ETA: hum, was using the static motives cheat for a while today while letting the household work on skills. The teenager went over to a friend's house after school and when I got around to check in on her she was stuffing her face with mac and cheese that someone in that household had served up. She already had the stuffed moodlet, so I assume she'd had at least another plate before I found her. When she finished her plate, she yawned a few times -- and went for another.

Guess it's like rkalanu said, but the strange thing is that this has never happened in my game before reading this thread.

You know, I could make "Bulimic" a trait.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off.
