Default How am I being inappropriate? ;A;
Whenever I go to someone else's house, they invite me in, we chat, then, as soon as I leave, they say I'm being inappropriate and will be kicked out if I continue to be so. What's going on here? It's happened pretty much everywhere. EA worlds, CaW worlds, Egypt...wtf?

I have no idea, but use the inappropriate but in a good way reward. It's a life saver.

Yeah, I guess that would stop it, but I just want it to stop saying I'm inappropriate when I'm not. D:
It could be because I don't say "Goodbye" but that interaction doesn't always appear. <_<

What sims think is inappropriate makes no sense. Like how is it inappropriate if your mother (that you like ) who is visiting decides to bake cookies for her daughter and her family.

It's not the Goodbye part. Your Sim either cleans the dishes, or makes the bed or whatever else you consider a matter of good manners in real life. Thing is, Sims hate this kind of courtesy in their houses. Next time you visit keep a close eye on your Sim to see what exactly he/she is doing.

This has happened to any number of my Sims on occasion when he/she is visiting in another Sim's home. It has always puzzled me because usually my Sim was doing nothing but chatting with another Sim. Go figure.

Once I tried to see if I could force the "inappropriate" action by cooking a meal in their home. It worked, but the people scarfed down the food anyway. LOL

I generally just tell a joke, hoping that will smooth over the "offense" and leave. (I figure they were probably the grouchy types anyway and my Sim is never that hard up for friends.)

You Sim might chat but the question is what is he/she saying? I have caught a visiting Sim talking about a member of the family he visited and another member passing by to get offended.

No, it's only when they leave. As soon as they leave the lot, someone says I'm being inappropriate.

This is really weird. Better use the reward Ani suggested, and spare yourself the frustration. As far as I am concerned, there are a lot of things in TS3 that do not make sense.

Sounds to me like a bug, actually. I've never had a sim be called inappropriate AFTER leaving. Something mod-related, or some bad data in the hood file maybe... do you have the same issue in a fresh game?

What do you do when you go home, do you click the little "Go Home" arrow? Because I noticed that when I'm somewhere else and click on something on my home lot, this will count as if you clicked on an object in your hosts' house. In order to avoid that I always click the "Go Home" arrow first before adding any other action to the queue.

BTW@Nalia: in the old world code of courtesy it will actually be considered bad manners if you do any household work in your hosts' house, such as making the bed you used or cleaning your dish. The reason is that by doing so you imply that your host is unable to afford someone who'll do this for them. Very bad manners.

Uhh...I dunno. I'll test it later tonight.

EDIT: I wasn't inappropriate when I hit "Go Home", so I guess *insert name here* was right. Than you, *insert name here*. :D

Did you just leave without letting them know?

Exactly, Wojtek. Another example: I had a Sim in Egypt go to a tomb under someone house as part of a quest. It was a fairly long tomb, so I pitched a tent in the tomb and slept. That, too, was considered rude. Seriously, if someone had me disarm some traps in their basement for them, and I knew it was dangerous and would take a few days, I don't think a tent would be too much to ask for. <_<

It is crazy lol, what about having showers in the house as well? They do the same thing, so I made a lot where there's a bed, kitchen, shower etc outside of the house in the back and make my sims use it. The message still comes up when the family catches me cooking, sleeping etc however since I am outside they can't kick me out lol, kinda funny because they can't do anything about it then.

The stupid thing is that everyone in the house knows about the incident immediately even babies and everyone rushes to my sim to point fingers at him/her. Sometimes I see the warning told by a toddler...hmmmm. Too bad. When my sim invites guests and they use his/her computer it's ok. When I invite my friends to my house and vice versa in real life we use the computer on a regular basis and it's not something rude I guess.

For a lot of people, adult people, a personal computer is considered personal, and someone coming to your house and using your personal computer is considered rude and needing a lesson on personal boundaries. IRL, if a person visits another person, then pulls out their own laptop and starts using it, it's not as bad, but still rude. Why go visit your friend if you're just gonna ignore them to play on your own laptop?

I wonder if it has to do with sims' personalities or the level of the relationship? My sim has a couple of friends that he visits who basically are not big social sims, nor do they seem very interested in entertaining visitors. In fact, they often go off and do their own things more often then doing something with their visitor. If they do get involved with the my visiting sim its because he has followed them about asking to join things he finds them doing. At these houses he is able to pretty much do as he pleases from getting on the computer to taking a shower or prepping a meal and never gets called inappropriate for things he does there that he does get called on when visiting others. On the other hand, these sims are also maxed out on the relationship scale, so I wonder if the other sim is more willing to overlook my sim's 'inappropriate' behavior or if because they have a close relationship these things are not considered inappropriate?
