Default Have you tried playing TS2 via Tablet? (Now with video and gameplay instructions!)
First of all, I deleted the first post because I worried it sounded too much like an advertisement.

Anyways, you probably have not, but there is a new $2 iPad app called Splashtop Remote which is one of a few remote desktop apps that work so fast that you can play video games on them. I find it doesn't like The Sims 3 too much, but it loves The Sims 2, and plays it really well. I will list some pros and cons of running TS2 via my iPad

Pros:
-Complete portibility. I can move my iPad anywhere, and unlike a laptop, it won't get hot playing the sims.

-I can trick friends into thinking my iPad can play The Sims 2 The graphics engine on the iPad is almost powerful enough, but the space limitations kind of ruin that idea.

Cons:
-Fiddly controls. I can't figure out how to change the camera pitch through hot keys, and can't really do edge scrolling most of the time.

-The iPad keyboard takes up half the screen when I pull it up, and I end up pulling it up a lot.

-You have to fiddle with resolutions to find one that works well.

Anyways, if you have an iPad and want to try this, share your experiences below.

Now splashtop is available for android devices!

Interesting, I've always wanted to try using a touch screen for the game as it be cool to just tap on the sims and stuff in buy/build mode.. but I didnt think about the camera angles and scrolling. The keyboard thing sounds like a pain too haha so maybe I wont consider it now.. lols

I don't think so, but I bet they will eventually come out with a remote desktop program like splashtop.

I use VNC, it is the SLOWEST thing in existance, along with team viewer. Except team viewer is unnecessarily complicated.

It's great when you're playing an intense sims game when you need to 'go'

Eh, the new school I'm going to requires an iPad, laptop or similar. If I do get an iPad, I'm trying this out.

I have some instructions on how to decently play the sims 2 on iPad via splash top:

Left mouse click: Click on screen.

Right mouse click: Hold down on the screen for a second or two.

Zoom in or out: Make sure pointer is in the game screen (not on user interface) and drag two fingers down to zoom in, or up to zoom out.

Select sim: Click on icon, or hold down on sim.

Follow sim: Hold down on icon.

Deselect pie menu: Click on sim head NOT on an empty space or it will default to the nearest option.

Move camera: Use keyboard arrow keys OR three finger tap to bring up the options screen and select the arrow keys option OR hold down near the edge of the screen in the direction you want to go (does not work if holding down on user interface.)

Change camera angle to be above sim: Press tab on keyboard, tap towards the bottom of the screen until you're happy with the angle, press tab again to return to game view.

I know these all are kind of tricky, but if you write them down or print out this post, you'll get a hang of them in no time.

Here is a brief video of the gameplay:

Try to ignore the fact that I'm having trouble controlling the game (I had a camera in one hand.)

How did you install it?

I haven't tried it and I doubt I ever will. The Sims Freeplay is specifically designed for iPad, so I'm not putting it to waste. The clue's in the name, anyway,
FREEplay. It's free.

EDIT DigitalSympathies, your school REQUIRES an iPad or laptop!? If I brought my iPad or laptop to school I'd get suspended!

Just had an awesome house party

Wow. My school doesn't allow iPods or Cellphones, but you can bring your iPad/laptop/ereader (kindle/nook) to school and use it. I'm not kidding. The kid who sits beside me in AP English has a iPad.
*thinks for a second (sarcastically)*
So now I can bring my Kindle Fire to school!!!

Is this app in the Amazon App Store for Kindle, Parrot? I am r e a l l y interested. Because, you know, Kindle Apps are pre-vertified by Amazon.com. And porting Sims 2... YES!

*Go grabs Kindle*
Wait... wait... YES! It is on the Amazon App Store! See picture!

(Sorry for the crappy quality. It was taken with a webcam.)

Now another round of (enter beverage of choice here)!
Mmm... Sprite.

Well, I don't go there anymore (dropped out and started up a computers shop), but I went to a really high-end, bazillion-dollar-tuition private school that let you do tests on iPads and stuff because my dad does foreign relations and makes a lot of dough. It was cool but not really worth it, everyone was so mean.

When I first saw this thread I thought it was for a drawing tablet (which I have done).

Now I feel left out.

That was not helpful, funny, or love!
