Default Harry Potter Legacy
This is a fun legacy I am currently playing. It's made especially for people like me who love Harry Potter.

Apartment Life and InSIM are REQUIRED for this challenge.

Make an adult sim. It can be a male or female, any aspiration and personality points.

Choose a Hogwarts house for your sim. It can be Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin.

Decide if your witches/wizards will be good or evil. Often, Gryffindors are good and Slytherins are evil.

Move them into a 5x5 lot and build a house. Do NOT use any money cheats.

The only cheat you are allowed to use in this challenge is InSimenator's Mortality Adjustor. In fact you must use it.

Set your sim to be a neutral witch/wizard. However, you may not use any spells on sims. They may study magic as much as they want though.

Marry a townie. The townies are muggles, so do not give them magic powers.

When a baby is born, roll a dice. If you get 1-3, your baby is a squib (non magic). Get 4-6 and your baby is a witch/wizard.

Your firstborn witch/wizard will be the heir. You must stop having children after you have a witch/wizard.

When your witch/wizard enters the child lifestage, it is time to assign them to a house. To do this, use this list randomizer:
http://www.random.org/lists/
Copy and paste this list into the text field:

Gryffindor
Slytherin
Ravenclaw
Hufflepuff

Hit 'Randomize' and whichever house is on top is your child's house.

Make your witch/wizard wear their house's colors. Gryffindor is red, Slytherin is green, Ravenclaw is blue, and Hufflepuff is yellow. There are Hogwarts robes for download here on MTS, go and download them!

Other than wearing their house's color, house does not effect your legacy as of now.

When your witch/wizard children become teens, have their witch/wizard parent grant them powers (or use InSIM).

Play as a regular legacy otherwise. The challenge automatically ends if your family fails to produce any witches/wizards.

Optional: Try to get your witch/wizard sims to get to Infallibly Good or Atrociously Evil before they die!

I don't have a point system as I don't play with points, at least as of now, but have fun and please post your stories!

Awesome- this may be the first ever legacy I actually (try to) finish (my only one, a normal legacy, glitched out on me, so I couldn't continue ). Good idea; thanks for posting!

I have two challenges going at this time but I think in order to not get bored with them I want to add a legacy to my list. Then I can work on each a little at a time. I love the two I am doing now but it becomes repetitive if I do it for too long. So yup! Excited. I haven't got very far any other time I tried a legacy but that is because I tried to go full speed ahead and not play anything else. By gen 3 I got pretty bored. I love the idea of a Harry Potter theme and rolling to see if they will be magical or not. Great idea! I think I will add a hogwarts for the teens to attend which would be then expanding it into a possible community to keep things interesting.

Now who has an excuse to use all previously useless Harry Potter themed items? ME!

Always remember that you are absolutely unique.
Just like everyone else.
