Default How to become a vampire?
I know this may sound so noobish, but I've never had a sim turn into a vampire, and I've always wanted to. I have tried once, and I even became friends with a vampire, but how do I get the vampire to bite my sim??

I don't generally use the route that you're supposed to use to make a vampire anymore, instead using a hacked object to create them whenever I want them. But as I recall, when I first decided I wanted a vampire, before I knew that CC/hacks existed, I found that the easiest way, if you have Uni, was to have another Sim influence the vampire to bite the Sim that you wanted vampire-ized. Just be aware that this sometimes results in them going a bit loopy and biting everyone they can find. Anyway, the Grand Vamps will bite autonomously, but I seem to recall that they seemed quite reluctant to do so! The other method I found that worked was to move in the Grand Vamp, even if only temporarily. Once part of a family, they will want to bite the other members of the family, even those they can't bite, like children and toddlers. Of course, this has the side effect of making them a playable, and you might not want that. But those are the two methods that worked for me.

I'm mostly found on (and mostly upload to) Tumblr these days because, alas, there are only 24 hours in a day.

You could search for it on Google. It is quite difficult. Hang around community lots at night time and become at least best friends with th vampire. If you use cheats you can either use boolProp to select the vampire or spawn something (I'll look it up when my game is working).

I once had a playable invite someone over and he asked if he could bring his friend. I said yes, and he showed up (in the middle of the day) with Count Ralph in tow; however, it was the middle of the day and he just howled: "The sun! It burns me!" and ran away. Presumably if he'd come over at night they would have had a proper visit and he could have been influenced and so on, had I wanted a vampire.

Unfortunately, since the tagalong friends in Sims2 aren't real friends (like they always were in Sims1; I used to love this feature and now it annoys me because I meet too many random townies without that, thank you), this would be as much happenstance as any other townie meet-n-greet. However, I find that if you're out late at the happening nightspots, particularly bowling alleys and dance venues, the vamps will show up most of the time. I don't take my sims bowling all that often, but when I do, I don't think Count Ralph has ever failed to show. If this is a common thing and not an artifact of the randomization of townies in my game, I suggest your vampire wannabe take up bowling in a serious way.

Also, so that you don't miss them when they do come on the lot (because sometimes they just hang around the fringes; and if it's cold they'll be in outerwear and you'll only know them by that arm-across-the-face walk), give your wannabe vampires as a turn-on and Scope the Room every hour or so. That should light up any vamps on the lot.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

I usually do the ...downtown greet, then go home, let the sim call the vampire (at night!) until they are best friends. Invite over (again - make sure its after 18.00) then just leave them to their socializing. My sim would usually get bitten if I didnt control him/her. If not just invite over the next night and hope for the best.

If I just wanted a vampire friend I would take care to not let my sim just idle but control everything and keep a close eye on them. Vampire friends are great to have if your sim hits a social low and desperately want to socialize. They dont mind if they get a call at 02.00 in the night :D

Wow, somehow I completely overlooked this. I have a couple of sim roomies who both work nights, and are asleep most of the day, so a landlord...er, I mean, vampire friend could be just the ticket to keep their social boosted.

From Simonut: Here is my take on if Sims 2 is losing popularity or not, If you offer or give a monkey a banana will he take it even if the banana is green or yellow ? Whatever new games EA put out there like the Sims3 some human somewhere will buy it.
