To help you further, please carefully read and follow the following:

First, double-check your setup: These instructions will take you through the things you should check yourself: Package Files Not Working. You may be able to fix the problem yourself using those instructions.

Still not working? Then we will need ALL of the following information.
    1. What is the version of your base game and any/all expansions?
      Windows OS: Game_Help:TS3_Patching_Find_Gameversionwiki
      Mac OSX: Game_Help:TS3_Patching_Find_Gameversion#info.plistwiki

Copy and paste the indicated line from the skuversion.txt or info.plist from the following locations, for ALL games you have (adapt as appropriate for OSX):
      C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin
      C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 <EP or SP name>\Game\Bin
      Quote:
      BG: GameVersion =
      WA: GameVersion =
      HEL: GameVersion =
      AMB: GameVersion =
      FL: GameVersion =
      LN: GameVersion =
      OL: GameVersion =
    2. Take THREE screenshots... one each of the following locations:
      • Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\
      • Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\
      • Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages

... and attach them to a post on this thread. Click Go Advanced and then Manage Attachments. Or if it says the pictures are too big, you can upload them to modyourpanties.com and copy and paste the links.
We have a guide on how to take screenshots if you need assistance: Game_Help:Screenshotswiki.

Make sure you set your folder view to Details mode, that you have file types showing (.package, .cfg, etc. on the ends of the filenames) and expand out the Name and Type columns so they're fully readable!
    3. Open your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\resource.cfg file in Notepad and copy-paste its contents here.
    4. Right-click on Resource.cfg and check Properties. Is the file name Resource.cfg or Resource.cfg.txt or something else?

That sims3pack is not gonna work on your packages folder. You need to place it in your dowloads folder and install it via launcher.

You forget to do these steps:

3. Open your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\resource.cfg file in Notepad and copy-paste its contents here.
4. Right-click on Resource.cfg and check Properties. Is the file name Resource.cfg or Resource.cfg.txt or something else?

  1. move your packages folder to your desktop
  2. create a new folder in the Mods folder and name it Packages
  3. delete the .dll file in the Mods folder, you dont need it
  4. put the No Intro mod in the Packages folder and test your game. See the Game Help:Installing Sims 3 Package Files/Setup and Fileswiki guide.

It's really as easy as creating 2 folders and adding the resource.cfg file, nothing complicated. Most issues occur from naming the folders incorrectly, wrong contents in the resource.cfg, or the resource.cfg is name incorrectly. Once you have the No Intro in the Packages folder, you should not see the little intro movie when you start the game. It should go right to the loading screen. Once that happens, you will know the folders and resource.cfg are placed and working properly. Then start adding in your other CC. If any of those .package files fail to show up in your game, then there is a problem with the .package file, not your setup.

For the error you are receiving with s3pe, you may want to uninstall it and check to make sure you have the latest version, if not download it and try reinstalling. Otherwise this will not cause any issues with your game. You dont even need S3PE installed unless you want it.

I'm attaching "mods.7z" to this post. I want you to download it and test your game with it. Delete your current Mods/Packages folder in Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder and replace it with this one.

It Includes:
. . Mods folder
. . . . Packages folder
. . . . . . nointro.package
. . . . DCCache folder
. . . . Probation folder
. . . . Test folder
. . . . Resource.cfg

This way I know everything is named and placed properly, all you need to do is move/extract the Mods folder to your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder and test your game.

Hi there,

I have the exact same problem as HazukiWolfe.
I tried everything and did exactly what I have to do. I used the "mods.7z" from werismyki and I didn't saw the intro, so that is a good thing.
But still no CC in my game too. I exacted the downloads and put them in the package folder.

My sku version is:

GameVersion = 1.19.44.010001
Code:0.ML-1.0.1089
Asset:1.Content.ml.242

spatulageekgirl - Please follow the instructions given in the post before yours. That is, the "first, double-check your setup" bit and if it's still not working, provide the requested information under "still not working" - but please do so in your own thread. This is a fixable problem.
