Default confess? confess to what?
One of my teen sims is insane, genius, bookworm and something else I can't remember but anyway I had one of the fathers invite someone from France he knew so the son could do a school report or something, well anyway I had that teen talk to him and well the school report didn't work (I think I need to go to france for it) but that is not what surprised me.

When going through the talking interractions I saw something I can't remember seeing before. I could have him confess. And being me I need to test everything and put the confess in the cue, then I zoomed to another family member and when I got back to those two all I see is flurry of red minuses over the frenchy guy's head and his face is all scrunched up like and then he just ups and leaves in a huff.

What on earth did the boy confess to? This was the first time those two sims met and the my sim has never had any romantic interractions with any sim so I can't imagine it was an affair.

He has raided the graveyard catacombs almost everyday though. Maybe the frenchy didn't like that?

That option came up when the teen sim spoke to the adult French sim? Does it also come up with other adult sims? It might be one of those interactions that doesn't really mean anything, like how sims can share secrets with other sims.

Do you have Generations? Some teens will autonomously pull pranks, so maybe it's related to that? Haven't seen it myself so I can't be sure.

No, this feature is pre-Generations. My Unlucky, Good Humoured, Shy, Bookworm teen had this option before GEN came out. I tried it and I have no clue what he said but it caused a bit negative drop in the relationship with the person he confessed to. He didn't even have anything to confess! He just reads and plays with his toddler brother all day!

Is it just teens that have this option?

My aldult had confess opinion when he cheated his wife and that were before generations IIRC

or wait, are you asking that of OP?

I know they do that if they cheat (Here's a sort of funny story. This Sim I had was married to his wife, however he was cheating on her with another woman, which the wife found out. A little bit later I was having the Sim talking to his mistress and confess came up. I thought he was confessing his love or something or cheating on his wife, however when he did the mistress had taken a step back and looked like she was hurt emotionally.

I then found out that she was mad at him now because he somehow confessed on cheating on her! Which is ridiculous because she was the mistress, he hadn't slept with anyone at that point, I don't think he even slept with his wife (He was one of the Landgraab as so was the wife, Nancy and Geoffrey so they were pre made) when I started playing him, no I made him cheat with the mistress, and the mistress knew that because the wife had walked on them. So why in the world was she getting all huffy and mad despite he didn't cheat on her, (This came up after he slept with her). Weird hey.

Not sure why your Sim was mad though, possible that Sim used to be a teen and they had a relationship while you were playing a different family but they broke up when he grew up?

I've always wondered myself what this is supposed to be, but as I used to play a localised version I just thought that it was a bad translation. This option to confess is really weird as there seems nothing specific that triggers it. It is not in a teen's conversation options by itself, something must have happened to unlock it, maybe skipping school or copying someone's homework. But as soon as it's unlocked it stays unlocked forever and causes a negative outcome no matter what Sim the teen talks to.

wow, then the 2 i'm working on now are going to be PISSED at each other, when i end up needing to have the imaginary friend sleep around just to get this couple children. i just have my doubts that buying the "no jealousy" lifetime happiness perk is gonna cover infidelity... is it?

and i'm going to need to buy it for everyone involved unless i get weird with "summon townie"

i was just in another forum and someone was saying that one of their sims was wrongfully grounded for pulling a prank that her sim sister did. i told her to see if the confess option was available from the truly guilty sim to the parents.
sorry if i got hopes up with the tempting thought of a reason to this seemingly pointless interaction, unless your sim is a friendship destroyer (to each his own), but no word back yet.
but perhaps there will be a true purpose for this interaction, and i can stop obsessing over it, and this will be it. but then that always leaves me with the question of, then why has it been there since the base game?
