Default Can't get cursed
I know this sounds like a stupid problem, but I'm rather invested in the "Torched, Soaked, Cursed" opportunity and would prefer not to give up. My Sim has 10 Athletic and no Martial Arts, but by making him encounter mummies only when tired, I've gotten him to lose all 5 fights. There are still more mummies somewhere, but it seems like it should be easier to get cursed. I'd be ticked to have to abandon the opportunity after spending days losing to every mummy in Al Simhara, so what are the odds of getting cursed? I probably should have tried this earlier, but do I need to take away his death flower?

I'm not sure what the odds are of getting cursed but I found it very difficult for my sims to get cursed even though they often lost a fight with a mummy.

Maybe try temporarily changing his traits to loser and/or unlucky before they fight.

Don't know if this will help....but, my sims only get cursed when they DON'T fight back. Whenever I set them to fight, no curse. Just sayin'.

I didn't know telling them to fight was an option. I've never gotten it. I just leave my Sims right next to the mummy and wait for the inevitable.
I gave him unlucky and loser and he got cursed on his third loss. Which was good, because I was running out of mummies. And he had just enough time left in the vacation to check in and get himself blessed in the Sphinx. I was also lucky I had more LTR points than I knew what to do with. They're on normal lifespan, but they live a lot longer because they spend so much time on vacation, I guess, so I had more than enough points to change his personality twice. I don't think I'll bother with that opportunity again, though, because all that getting beaten up by mummies damaged his reputation so now half of Al Simhara dislikes him. All in all, not a good use of 10 days. Also, whoever assigned prices to the photographs must have seriously underestimated how hard it is to get "pleading with sphinx." I think they were worth less than 100 simoleons. (The screenshots I got were pretty awesome, though.)

My Curses wont stick, so a sim gets cursed I travel home and they dont even get sick. Do you have be in country for the 14 days to have the curse stick? I can get into the spinx even if it doesnt fold down at first.

Some people have a Guardian Angel, you know a little guy sitting on your shoulder that tells you right from wrong, but mine is an Idiot.

I made a community lot filled with sarcophagus and mummies, fough 34 of them (martial arts and atletic mastered, brave trait) and then tried and switched the brave trait to loser. next 3 fights I lost and finally got cursed.

I've seen this new potion that the witch can made, I've never try it personally, but I think you can get curse just by drinking that potion

The problem here is you Sims's Athletic Skill. Because it is so high, your Sim will always win a fight with a mummy.

Well that would have been wonderful, but unfortunately EA isn't that creative. The potion is like any other creature potion, it just turns the target into a mummy .

I built a lot, added 25 sarcophagi, changed my Sims traits to Clumsy, Coward, Unlucky, Loser, & Grumpy- built a fence around the lot, teleported into the lot and let them fight my Sim... Took about 20 tries (fights), but she *finally* got cursed!
