Default Muscle Definition
Anyone know why my top has less muscle definition than other tops? I used the nude top as a base. It's really no big deal as I don't have any juice heads in my game, but it would be nice to know.

If the sim is a teen or an elder, then it's because the teen and elder male nude tops don't work with the muscle definition slider. You might have forgotten that if you have my fix installed, but even then anything cloned from the nude top would still be broken. Unfortunately, that's kind of a pain to fix; I don't remember precisely how to fix it right now, so let me know if you need me to check. If its a YA/adult shirt, I don't know.

You can fix it using Delphy's GEOM Editor - easiest is to open an adult top with the muscle definition working and export the MTNF, then open the non-working mesh and import that MTNF.

If that's not it - have you tried running it though my tangent recalculator?

think those are missing a TGI reference?

@whiterider - It is a YA/A top so that's not it.

@CmarNYC - I've run it through the one that's included in your meshtoolit, it did fix the seams. I'll give the GEOM editor a go. The muscle definition does work, it's just not as strong as game tops. Both pics are with it at 100%.

@Bloom - I'll take a look.

OK, so I think I've narrowed it down to a TSRW problem. I'm going to try to remake this one using S3PE and CTU to see what happens. I've looked at the cc shirts I have in my game and found that tops with new meshes made with TSRW have this issue while those not made with TSRW don't.

It's TSRW, just did a quick test.

That's interesting, I wonder if TSRW is creating incorrect TGI refs. Sadly I can't compare at the minute, don't have my modding computer. :/

It's definitely TSRW not correctly calculating tangents when it imports a mesh. It's not just less muscle definition, the whole shading is different. I was able to fix it by exporting the project contents to a package, exporting the GEOM from the package, running it through the Mesh Toolkit tangent recalculator, and replacing the package GEOM with the recalculated one.

And as always that did the trick, I forgot you put out a stand alone for that one. Thanks doesn't even begin to express the gratitude bestowed upon you.

If you mean the muscle definition slider, that came with the patch that came out for Late Night. You need to patch up to date; you don't need LN.

Start up your Sims 3 Game Launcher, click the Game Updates button near the bottom, and let the Launcher update your game to the latest patch level. (You have to be online for this, of course!)

Or, you can patch manually: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php...lp:TS3_Patching . Since it sounds like you've never patched, or at least not since before Late Night, you'll need to download the big Super Patcher.

If you have problems or questions about patching, the Help forum is the place to ask rather than in this thread.

After patching, the muscle definition slider will be in your game.
