Default Private schools in Sims 3 - is it possible?
This isn't a request, more just me wondering if it's something possible to do.

Is it possible to make a private school in the game? If you have more than one of the same rabbitholes, sims are meant to the closest one, so could I just put a school one down in the centre of my more wealthier areas? Would it also be possible to have a uniform the students change into like sims going to work?

Twallan offers specialty schools that can act like private schools. You can get it here . If you combine this with his Story Progression, you can have inactive sims pushed to attend the specialty schools, and even set a family's net worth requirement so that only "rich" sims can afford "private" schools.

Thank you. So would I just use the Schools (and base) module for that? And what about the uniforms?

Uniforms under [StoryProgression] are specified using the Formalwear category. If you have the appropriate options enabled, the sims will automatically switch into their formalwear before going to school.

Oh, great thanks!

Your mods have what I need. I was thinking it would be more difficult. So basically I can just use the Careers - School mod and the Story Progression mod, get a second school rabbithole (I'd probably build my own) and I can just then set it so they'll change into formal wear, some funds are taken out of the family account, and choose a minimum networth?

I haven't played Sims 3 in a while due to my computer (so I never got around to play the later expansions) though soon I'll be getting a new one, so just one last question: Are there school uniforms in the actual games or will that be custom content?

You have to select the clothing you want to use as your uniform. You can choose to use game clothes, or custom content, depending on your own tastes.

Oh, I know. I was just wondering if the game had an existing one in place or if I'd just have to go look for a CC one.

I guess that depends on what you want the uniform to look like

There are plenty of clothes in the game that could be casted to look like a school uniform unless you have something very specific in mind.

You don't need (and Twallan's mod won't use) a second school rabbit hole. Instead, it will (with the right settings) assign sims from rich families to specialty schools using existing base game rabbit holes (an entrepreneurial school in the business rabbit hole, an arts school in the theatre rabbit hole, a military school in the military base rabbit hole, etc.)

Note that your settings are everything. I have Twallan's specialty schools in my game, but I have them set up to be free and have no uniforms, and such that students aren't automatically enrolled (they only go if I manually sign them up).

It's easy though, using Twallan's story progression menus, to have kids from inactive households automatically signed up for the specialty schools, to have uniforms (formal wear), to have them cost tuition and have wealth influence who goes, etc.. Just be ready to use the menus, and it's a good idea to read Twallan's documentation to make it easier to determine where in the menus you have to go to set it up.

Just a typical uniform, with the blazer and everything. I think I'll be able to find one with ease on MySims3Blog or another CC site.

Oh, I thought the private schools were different from specialty schools. So it isn't possible to use two different school rabbitholes for the mod? I was hoping it would act just like the school rabbithole, but with uniforms and tuition.

That's not how Twallan's mod works: In his mod, the specialty schools are the private schools. If it helps, a good portion of the real life private schools that aren't religious have specific academic focuses similar to the specialty schools, while still being well-rounded enough to prepare students for college.
