Default Is there a way to rename a Sim?
I'm playing a neighborhood with 4 families (2 sets of parents, their kids marry, give them grandkids...) and while in one house, one of my Sims in another house had twins & they were named weird names. Is there a way I can rename the babies? Or am I stuck with Griselda & Adria?

You can change a Sim's name at City Hall.

I want to get a vending machine, with fun sized candy bars, and the glass in front is a magnifying glass. You'll be mad, but it will be too late.- Mitch Hedberg

Just take the babies there?

Alternatively, use Master Controller for that. Quicker and simpler.

You don't have to take the babies there. Have one of the parents go to city hall during the day and there should be an option.

I haven't done it in forever but I think you just click on City Hall and there should be an option to change a Sim's name. It's only available from 8am-6pm though.

I'm not sure what Master Controller is, I'm guessing a Mod. (I have the nRaas mod) I'll send the parents down to the Town hall. Thanks!

But what's wrong with the names Griselda & Adria? They're baby witches, right?

Another modless way: testingcheatsenabled true, and then shift-click and select Edit Sim. After that, you just type new names into the name field.

If you do it with babies, you can also change the color of the baby blankets.

But if you do the method hugbug suggested, keep in mind it resets your sims' ages back down to the beginning of whatever life stage they're at. So if you're half-way through the YA stage, and edit them in CAS with testingcheatsenabled true, it'll reset them to the beginning of the YA stage.

My babies that were born with those names aren't baby witches. They were born in a family in which I wanted the names to all start with the same letter since I'm building up the two original sets of now grandparents. That way I know which kids (cousins) go with which parents. And also, going to see how many generations I can play before I get bored of them.

So I guess Griselda & Gadria would be out for you as well? That way, they do both start with G, and Gadria is kind of cute. No one else in her class will have that name, either.
