Sims Medieval- How do you typically Physically make your heroes?
So I found a thread on here asking people what sex they choose for each of their Heroes and I loved it. So then it got me thinking, how interesting would it be to ask you guys what physical characteristics you seem to choose the most for each one. I will give some examples below.

My Monarch for example is always female and I always make her a red head or with jet black hair. She is always fair skinned, with freckles, and ice blue eyes.

My Bard is always male and he is also always a red head with a goatee.

My Peteran Monk is always an overweight male with brown hair and a beard.

So do you guys notice you choose a certain hair color, eye color, weight, clothes, facial features for certain Heroes? I sure do!! :lovestruc

Edit: It will also make it more interesting if for example you have played 3 different Monarchs lets say and you describe what each one looked like. Were there similarities in how you always make your Monarch? You can do this for all the heroes that you have made more than one of, not just the Monarch.

I usually make all my heroes women because I dunno, girl power I guess, lol, but I've played male heroes before and had just as much fun playing the game so it's not really something that matters much in the grand scheme of things. Just a personal preference of mine.

I have a kingdom right now with all female heroes.

Roswyn Templeton (Monarch) - dark red hair, pale, bright green eyes, thin, muscular.
Eliad Spellweaver (Witch) - blonde, purple eyes, pale, thin, scrawny.
Chastity Preacher (Jacoban Priestess) - blonde, pale, blue eyes, thin, scrawny.
Jane Humble (Peteran Priestess) - brunette, lightly tanned, brown eyes, obese, scrawny.
Lina Softouch (Physician) - white-blonde hair, albino, red eyes, thin, scrawny.
Wrath Crimson (Knight) - black hair, very dark skin, brown eyes, husky, muscular.
Bertha Stonehammer (Blacksmith) - brunette, tanned skin, brown eyes, husky, muscular.
Lolanda Goldpocket (Merchant) - black hair, dark skin, brown eyes, medium weight, medium build.
Cordelia Whimsy (Bard) - blonde, pale, bright blue eyes, medium weight, scrawny.

I don't have pics of all my heroes, but here's a couple of Roswyn.

(In case you're wondering, the baby's a girl and her name is Princess Sapphire. )

Ashleigh, thanks for contributing :-). That is so interesting.

Do you notice a pattern in how you make your heroes though? For example, lets say you have made three monarchs, did they all have similarities? You can answer this for all the heroes that you have created more than one of in a separate game, not just the Monarch.

Loved your response, very cool :-).

I find it changes depending on the personality I'm going for. Roswyn is Dedicated and Eloquent with the Bloodthirsty fatal flaw. She places security and military in high regard and rules with an iron fist so she has a strong, fiery look to her. I've played very sweet, gentle, peaceful monarchs before and they've usually been blonde with blue eyes.

My merchants usually have a middle-eastern flare to them. They do a lot of travelling and come from faraway places to take care of trades and whatnot so they usually have an attractive exotic look to them.

My physicians are usually quiet, timid characters with weak constitutions but my Jacoban priests are almost always evil, greedy characters who are spiteful and judgmental of everyone around them.

That is very interesting Ashleigh :-). My Physicians are also usually quiet with weak constitutions and are always female. Oddly enough I have never played an Evil Monarch, I always make them good. I should try an evil one ;-). My Jacoban Priests are also always greedy jerks lol. Now my Peteran Monks are always chubby, jolly men with beards and they are always kind hearted. I always make them have wrinkles around the eyes and have a kind expression :-).

Aha, yeah that sounds similar to a lot of my heroes. Evil monarchs are fun, but Roswyn's not so much evil as just military-oriented. She wants the best for her kingdom but she sees the best way of going about that is by having a strong military to protect it and a Jacoban populace to ensure obedience and stability out of fear of the Watcher. I get really involved with my Hero Sims on a personal level.

I'm planning on assassinating her with my Spy (whom I forgot to list, oops, but her name's Belle Noir and she's a thin, pale elf with bright green eyes and black hair) in the Royal Assassination quest, but I want to wait until I have Roswyn complete the Political Marriage quest. I had her marry her advisor for the Royal Heir quest first though so I want to kill him off to leave Roswyn open for the Political Marriage quest. The problem is I can't kill him off because since he's her advisor, he's needed for almost every quest the monarch does and the game won't let me send him to the pit.

I might end up just assassinating her now anyway and have her daughter take her place as Queen and do the Political Marriage quest.

Oh no poor Roswyn lol. You made her a read head like I make my Monarchs ;-). Yea, I love the way the sims look in the Sims Medieval. I really wish the Sims 3 team would have brought that engine to The Sims 3 because they just look m,ore realistic in the Sims Medieval. I can't wait to play later. I am going to start a whole new game just for the fun of it :-).

I'm a bit biased.

King Grim Reefer always looks like me. Note however that I run clean kingdoms with random toons that I test with. Best example is the image in my "Clothing Tutorial".

Other than that, I pick hot female heroes. I guess I'm sexist. Not that my King gets it on with the other heroes, in fact I almost never have hero to hero relations. My King represents me. Other than that, I enjoy looking at the female sims more. I like smart powerful women, so I fill my kingdom with them. Since my king is the only male hero I get them all.

I'm with Grim on this one. Except for the fact, that I treat all of them as my personal baby dispensers. Not that I like crying babies or children in general, but nothing gives me more satisfaction than to age up my hero's own children and sending them to the pit.

Probably a good thing I'm not a parent irl.

I gave your question careful thought. The Elfish are always tall and white haired. My Dwarves are always redheads. Lord of the Rings bias I guess.

My knights, always male, are uniformly dark haired and have a medium complexion, with some kind of facial hair.
My Peterans always look like Friar Tuck, fair with medium brown hair, gentle tempered, and a little overweight. They occasionally marry.
My Jacobean is always male and looks like the pictures I've seen of Rasputan. Tall, gaunt, pale, and dark haired; who usually have vile tempers, and never marry but are always promiscuous.
My Merchant is always a little on the plump side and nearly always olive skinned with dark hair. They always marry.
My Blacksmith is evenly split between hefty pale Celtic redheads or sturdy swarthy Mediterranean types. The Blacksmith, whether male or female, is always married to a red haired Dwarf.
My Physician, evenly split between males and females, is always of median height and has medium brown hair, Semitic looking and is always married.
My Wizard is uniformly tall and thin. I noticed that I always choose gray or white hair for the Wizard and he or she has green eyes. The Wizard is of a solitary mindset and never marries but usually likes fishing.
My spies would never survive in the real world. They are always at the limits of the height slider. They are ,without fail, thin. Unusually tall, white haired, Elvish, always female, thin faces, green or lavender eyes, oddly tanned for Elves. They never marry but are always grabbing up something interesting to sleep with.
The Bard I rarely pay any attention to since I consider them nearly useless. The Bard is there only because the game insists that I have one so I usually just randomize the character.
My Monarch is all over the map. I have had Dwarves and Elves. I have had tall Vikings, petite east Indians, Persians, Normans, Saxons, Celts, Ethiopians. There is no set style or gender for the Monarch.
I find I choose a straight nose. Eyes are wide set, large, and set at a slight upwards slant at the outsides. The eye color ranges from pale silver to deep burgundy. I rarely use blue. The mouth style varies depending on the temperament the character. So a Jacobean would feature a thin lipped narrow frown. The Blacksmith full lipped and smiling. The Merchant an arrogant sneer. The Peteran a mouth that smiles and orates equally well. The Spy with a seductive full lipped mouth that can curl deceptively when she tortures, or poisons, or has sex with her victim. The Wizard straight lipped and serious. Usually the Physician has a small sad mouth. The Monarch has a wide smile that can just as easily howl in rage, full lips without being sensual. The Bard, who cares.
My servants are nearly always dishwater blonde, wispy and badly complected. My advisers are dark haired.
I rarely if ever use the strangely colored skins. I did find that I really liked the scaled skin except for the fact that the horny protuberances looked more like bad acne, so I never used it. I don't use bizarre green or purple or blue or blood red hair either.
There are never any children. I found them to be less than useless in the game and frequently caused route fails because they were in the way. There was no real interaction with them. They were just there. So I got rid of them with the no kids Mod. If, on the very rare chance that one of my heroes has one, I send it away as soon as the game allows. I have no use for them since I find no use in building a dynasty in a game that has no genetics.
That's about as detailed as I can get.
I haven't played for a long time, but I still download new Mods as they come along waiting for the day when I decide to pick it up again.

I like playing The Sims. I don't like to be played like a Sim.

I always make mine different, I don't stick to a certain pattern, game gets boring otherwise... well, more boring.

Though now that I think of it, I've never made a female Peteran priest. Then again I never made that many priests since I usually turn the Peteran church into a secondary tavern and the Jacoban church into a secondary castle...

Oh yeah, hoods, every single one of my male heroes has at least one outfit with a hood. Females less so cause the hoods appear to float on most female outfits...

Also, I typically try to keep the number of female and male heroes even. That's because I only marry my heroes with other heroes, not counting the Monarch's since they usually end up marrying elven royalties. Primarily cause NPC's are terrible (ugly, useless, never at home) and also because NPC's are terrible. Did I mention NPC's are terrible?

I don't have any gay heroes cause... well you got me there.

This is really cool guys thanks so much for responding and anyone else don't hesitate to join in .

OMG DeeDawg I just laughed so hard at your post lol .

ladyskye, I love your post, its so detailed and very interesting. I love how you tend to give your characters unique eye colors. I notice you said different heights? Is there a mod for height? I notice you said you use a few mods, would you mine telling me which ones so I may dabble in them? Loved your post!!

If anyone wants to post pics of their heroes don't hesitate . i will be posting some later ;-).

Edit: JackieSmith, I have never made a female Peteran Monk either, they are always male :-).

If there's a mod, I have probably used it. From custom eye colors to custom castle and roof colors. I use Shimrod's Mods, Forsaken Mods, Simmer99's Mods, Grims Core. Just to name a few. I use Delphi's sliders (There's another somewhere, but I think it's Delphi's. It's been a long time, and I've slept since then). I think that's the one where you can adjust the height. (Among other things.) You have to be careful with the dresses for the ladies. Too short or too tall and the dresses tend to get a little weird. Dress your height adjusted ladies in trousers if you can. Get into the sticky threads (the one about posting pictures) and you'll find pics along with explanations of how most of us got the effects that we did. I haven't played for months and months. After 80 plus Kingdoms I got just a little burned out and put TSM away for a while to try other things. But I try to keep my MODS folders current with what's new here. Just make sure that the Mods you pick up are
1, For the version of the game you have. Modders will for the most part tell you whether it will be base game, base game plus patch, and/or base game plus P&N. And...
2, Add them and then play them in your game one at a time so if there's a conflict between mods, you'll know right away which one it was that caused the conflicts. Most Modders will tell you right off if they know of any conflicts.
But definitely start with Grimreefer's Core Mod.
Hope that helps and enjoy...

I've actually made all my heros the same in every ambition (same name, same looks, same clothes, except for any special reason to clothe them in unlocked outfits. Since getting the adventure pack, Pirates and Nobles, I've just made them look like pirates and have the dark eyeliner makeup... :P

*Huge sigh of Relief* Done with all my typicals and physicals, did I pass my test?
