Default HOTELS: EA (another) epic fail
Who loves to build is bitterly disappointed about Hotels.
Resorts are rabbit holes with something around. The logic of rabbit holes in TS3 is honestly disastrous (i can't wait TS3 to finish, i think we deserved a TS3 completely different and more creative).
Resort Tower are huge, ugly, predetermined, they impose their architectural style to all the rest.
WHY in the name of WHY EA didn't think: "probably builders would love to build entirely their resorts whith their styles"?
??
casualness? forgetfulness?
It's an huge fault, things have so taken a turn for the worse that i'm worryed about TS4 (if the way is this one...)

Now. Margaret Pendragon created Resort Tower rabbit hole RUGS and thanks to her we could build our hotels without monster ea towers, but Hotels are anyway disappointing.
All rooms are EMPTY except suite we sleep in, our sims are ALONE in the resort. Awful. Ok there's few sim in public areas, but all hotel is empty.
Do you remember TS2 Hotels?
Why regress?
BAH.
I'm so disappointed i can't tell.

But EA think we are happy with TS3???

I absolutely hate the RH for resorts and that is why I am using Margaret Pendragon's resort RH rugs from this point forward. I am not a big fan of them but do find they mess up the design you want to use in a particular themed town. RHs don't always go with everything.

Yeah, I don't really understand what's supposed to be fun about the resorts. I've upgraded mine based on the "reviews", went from 3 to 4 stars, but there are no more visitors now than there were. Oh, sure, the resort status screen says occupancy is 44/44, so I supposedly have a full house, but where are they? All I ever see are maybe 3 or 4 sims wandering around. I guess I'm supposed to pretend there are invisible sims staying in the resort tower rabbit hole? What's the fun of that?

Perhaps there's some kind of marketing psychology going on... pile on the rabbit holes, make people dissatisfied with TS3 so they'll want to buy TS4.

While playing, I noticed that the Check In Interaction fail frequently when a NPC autonomously try to pick a VIP Room, because of the interaction synchronization. That is sad, because the customer won't try to run the same interaction after some fail attempts. I guess that is why the VIP Rooms is always empty. Another thing that mess up: Homeless sims are discourage to check in.

Woah, is it that bad. Maybe we will have to put all our resorts at 5 stars to get more visitors?
Remember the txt document trick when LN came out? So you could maximise the sims on a club lot by editing the document so that it tells the game to send more people? Does that trick still work? Maybe we could use it on resorts / hotels.

Can't find stuff in build and buy mode? http://www.nexusmods.com/thesims3/mods/1/?

if it's failing due to sim-sim social docking, maybe a mod to eliminate the need for a visible interaction would help? Shortcircuit it to go straight to setting the room allocation. Might not look as interesting but it would get those rooms filled.

agree. I guess an ImmediateInteraction to Check In should solve the problem, instead of Social one.
