Default Daytime Nighttime Boots Issue
I'm having an issue with the knee high lace-up shoes... Babies come out discolored and Sims are showering with pants and those shoes on. I've been on a journey trying to find and delete these puppies with no luck at all. I've looked through everything in the installed content game launcher and nothing had the name of "daytime night time" shoes or whatever it is; I've deleted everything that I didn't recognize and then some. I've been to the BadCC webpage and deleted all I could find from there. I was pretty sure they came from a Sim I downloaded from the exchange, but I've pulled up every single one (male and female) in CAS and gone through every single outfit and none used those shoes as a default! I rarely download any .package files, but I've searched through those as well. I cannot find these things to save my life. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

The simplest solution at this stage may be to remove your DCCache folder entirely, thereby removing all your sims3pack CC. Run the game again (to make sure they're gone!), and then install only the sims3pack content you really want back in, and check any sims for piggybackers with CUSTARD before installing them.

You may also need to use something like twallan's Dresser mod to remove the boots from the naked outfit for affected sims, if they're just EA boots recategorised as opposed to real CC boots.

If you still need help, the best place to post would be the game help QA forum, under the Help menu above.

I had those in my game once upon a time when I made the mistake of downloading from the exchange, I managed to find them in the launcher and just get rid of them that way. I believe I also uninstalled the few sims I had downloaded to be on the safe side (pretty sure that's where they came from). I didn't have to do anything more thorough than that but you could have picked them up from a different source. Look for the icon as shown on this page (top left)http://sims3.crinrict.com/badcc/BadCC_Clothing.html

If you can't find them nysha's advice is probably the best way to go!

Is there supposed to be anything in the DCCache folder? I have 5 things in it, none of which are sims3pack. I've searched on the EA forums about this as well and have seen where others have suggested to do this as well. I just don't want to mess anything up! And I know the boots are a duplicate item - when I'm in CAS that style boot is in there twice.

I'm going to go look for the dresser mod right now! If anything maybe that'll be the easiest bandaid for the issue.

I'll let ya know how the dresser thing goes... Thanks for your input!

Update: I removed the DCCache folder and uninstalled all the sims from the launcher, went into the game and had the sim change clothes and take a shower and that seems to have taken care of it... We shall see! Now my only issue is I have a pregnant sim that has turned black, but at least I can fix that once she's not pregnant. What a pain!

When you install sims3packs through the Launcher, they get combined together into .dcb files and dropped into DCCache. The .dcb files are basically just merged .package files.
