Default Help? Custom career not showing up in-game.
I created my own custom career using Superfly's tutorial (and a few others for reference), did all the group ID and GUI and EP compatibility things, but the career still doesn't show. I know that the "AllRes" number at the top of the reference tree in SimPE should read "108," but for some reason it reads "112." Is this the issue? How do I fix that?

Did you use this tutorial? It sounds like you went through the steps to add the four extra files, but the career template you used already was EP ready... Could that be right? I have no idea whether you can delete those added files safely, or if the best option is to start from a clean template.

Yes - but when I went to add the extra files, the number was 106. I have no idea how the number jumped to 112 when only 4 files were added, or why the number was 106 instead of 104 when I began.

What template did you use as a base, and what sort of career are you trying to make, adult or teen/elder?

I used the athletic career as a base, and it's adult.

Where did you get the base from? Did you download it somewhere or did you extract it from SimPE?
I only know the basics of career-making, so I might be wrong, but it sounds like you have used a teen/elder career as a base instead of an adult.
Could you check the following things for me:
- If you open the career in SimPE, click Name Reference in the left column ('Resource Tree'), you should now see one file that starts with JobData. What is the name of that file?
- Then click on Behaviour Function (again in the lefthand column). Is there a file called: CT - Upgrade Job to Adult?
- Did you use Bidou's Career Editor, and if so, did you have to add levels manually?
I really want to help you with this, but as I said, only basic knowledge and experience so I'm not sure what the best and quickest solution is, don't want you to have to redo everything. Will see if I can google around and replicate in SimPE what you have done, I want to figure this out now

Woops. You're right. It says "teen athletic." Under behavior functions, there is a file called "CT- Upgrade Job to Adult." I edited it in Bidou's Career Editor and did indeed have to add the levels.

Thank you for trying to help, by the way. I'm completely new to careers and it's disheartening to put so much work into it only to have nothing show up. I can redo it if necessary.

Well that explains it then Glad we got that figured out! I do however fear that the only option is to redo the thing... I certainly wouldnt know where to start with replacing those xml strings with the correct ones, so redoing it might be safest. I hope that this won't cost you too much time and trouble. Superfly's tutorial links to templates that are EP-ready, so you can work from them. Good luck!

Aw, bummer. My own mistake, tho. I can just go ahead and redo it.

Thank you for your help! You've been awesome.
