This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default I have problems with my mouse cursor in Sims2.
I have Game worked fine until I had to reinstall windows 2000, also downloaded all patches and directx 9c from windowsupdate. After reinstall I had to reinstall Sims2. Now the problem started, first build mode was disabled and the game sent the “the application has crashed and will terminate message after 10-15 minutes play. I then found that I did not had installed the Sims2 patch, Installed patch and build mode work again.
But I got a new problem, the mouse pointer is blinking on and off and often the background behind the pointer is in wrong colour while the game is waiting or in neighbourhood mode, believes it’s the animated cursor doing this because I see it other places to.
The cursor blinking make playing so hard I have not found that are causing the crash after installing the update, but it was always during standard game play ordering sims around doing everyday things.

Magnemoe - Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel. Double-click on Mouse... then click on Pointers tab. Select None for the scheme, then click on Apply, then OK.

My mouse is already on none scheme, had the Logitech mouseware software installed but un installed it because it made problems in games.

Strange thing is that the mouse worked fine before applying the patch, but was not able to select in build mode or save except exiting the lot. Also the game crashed after 10-15 minutes.

This is real strange, I probably installed something in wrong order then I reinstalled windows like installed security update #1820 before #1818 or something stupid.

Update, Installed the omega Ati drivers and reinstalled directx 9c, now the build mode is off.
How can Directx change this? (Must I sacrifice the chicken before or after installing?)
Can not reinstall the sims2 patch, it say it’s already installed.

But the main problem is that the game crashes after 5-15 minutes play, has the same problem in Morrowind who reboots the pc after some time.
