Sims 4 Official Theme Song
Hey
Some of you may have heard it already, but I just found the official theme song to the game on The Sims VIP and have the link if you haven't heard it yet.

http://simsvip.com/2014/08/04/creat...s-4-theme-song/

I personally like it. It's cheerful in a way that sort of feels like The Sims 2.

What do you guys think?

It reminds me of the theme song of a 70s German game show. Especially the second half.

In case that isn't clear: It's not a compliment.

Hmmm, it's catchy, not bad at all.

I honestly don't really like it.

Nice, but I was sort of expecting something that was a riff on the original theme that they have always used. You know, some sort of continuation of what they had before sort of thing.

It's one of the few things about Sims 4 I thought was pretty good. Not great. But good. And I suppose a free download is a free download.

But now this inspires me to Google a little:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QU2rUU0z72Y (Sims 1 theme)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml1ckCzMfqk (Sims 2 theme)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34B_QDoZy64 (Sims 3 theme)
http://simsvip.com/2014/08/04/creat...s-4-theme-song/ (Sims 4 theme)

Which one do you all prefer? Not your favorite series (oh not again) .... your favorite theme.

Actually, for me, I'd have to say it's really, really close between 2 and 3. Now being a Sims 2 player, I do confess the 2 theme makes me smile. But I would give a razor-thin edge to 3. The theme is a nice nod to its predecessor, but not a copy.

Thanks to ALL free-site creators, admins and mods.

RIP Sunni ... truly a ray of light.

The franchise has never really done that, so I'm not too surprised. TS2's theme sounded nothing like TS1's , and TS3's theme had hints of the Open For Business remix (which is still the best theme of any Sims game, IMO), but that was about it.

I really like this theme, but I can definitely see myself cringe when I hear it in rotation with 10 other EP themes and 1000 hours of play. Just like every other main theme. :P

EDIT: On a side note, TS4 continues the grand Sims tradition of having the best music hidden away in CAS. Here's my favorite from TS4 CAS. TS3's Versimilitude was always my favorite from the base game, and I always loved Sim Time, Sim Place from TS2.

It's there - I can hear it, they just really switched it up. I hear elements of 1, 2, & 3.

Addicted to The Sims since 2000.

I like it overall, it has the same feel as TS2 and TS3 themes I think.

Gazania- it's a toss up between 2 and 3 for me as well but I think I'd give it to TS2, maybe because I'm sick of TS3 one as that's all I played over the last 5 years until recently with the Ultimate Collection. For music overall though TS1 wins hands down, love it. Even the little jingles and sound effects are great. And I could listen to the different neighbourhood music for hours, I've never gotten tired of it. Nostalgia also helps I'm sure.

I'm actually really feeling the Sims 1 theme. It's so classy and understated.

I guess I'm one of the few who likes TS1 theme song the best.

I like it, it's happy and catchy!
@gazania I think I prefer the TS2 theme, though TS3 is a close second. Listening to them all, it's like they're competing to see which can sound the most cheery (except for TS1, which has nothing to prove ).
@ElementMK I agree CAS tends to have good music, but build mode is where it's at, especially TS1 and TS2's Sim Builder (always thought it was neat how they used the floor tile placement sound in the song). It's actually one of the only things I'm looking forward to in TS4.

It's not that bad, but I'm still not buying the game.

In my opinion, eh... It's better than The Sims 3's main theme, but that's really not saying much, as half of The Sims 3 music makes me want to drill a hole through both of my eardrums... Or just mute the game... That works too.

@gazania
The Sims 1 theme is definitely my favorite. The Sims 2 theme was good too, but The Sims 1 theme is so simple and soothing. Very classy. Also, I get a nostalgia attack every time I hear it.
I didn't care for The Sims 3 theme because they just ripped it off of a track used multiple times in The Sims 2. And it didn't sound nearly as nice as the Sims 2 versions (my favorite Sims 2 version is the one that sounds like an 80s song ). I prefer originality, which is why I like the theme for The Sims 4.

Oh, so THAT'S what that song was! I always just referred to it as the song that sounded like an 80s song.
As much as I love it, I can't say it's my favorite theme. That spot always goes to the theme for The Sims 1. But it's still up there with my all-time favorite Sims songs!

It's okay, not my favorite. Starts out sounding a little twangy/rednecky (the Banjo sound), but ends sounding a bit 80s soap opera theme music.

I mostly just play Sims 3, but I think the Sims 2 music was the best. Could just be nostalgia talking since Sims 2 was my first exposure to sims, but even listening to them all again, I still like Sims 2 music the best.

I like the Sims 2 theme song... but hands fucking down Sims 1 had the best soundtrack out of the entire history of the sims series. It was quite diverse yet all managed to tie in together perfectly. The build and Buy soundtrack was amazing (even though hours of play did get you feeling slightly sick of it, I could listen to that one over 2 and 3's build/buy soundtrack anyday) Plus with each expansion pack came a new theme song, wheres with 3 I don't think it really had much of a change?

It's OK, but Sims 1 music is by far the best. I have all the sims 1 and sim city 4 music on my ipod and I play it a lot.
