Default How to move an individual sim from a household without severing relationships?
I'd prefer not to buy a game guide for this 1 question however why is it so incredibly difficult (at least for me) to move 1 sim out from a household and move them to another lot without forgetting their relationships?

Any help appreciated.

Thank you.

Hit Esc and select Manage Worlds. Select your house and click the ellipses (...) button. Click Manage Household. You'll be presented with a screen where you can select which Sims you want to move to a separate lot. Be aware that the column on the right is sorted first by Played and Unplayed households, and then subdivided by neighborhood. Either choose an existing household or create a new one and move the Sim(s) you want out.

When I first tried the feature I wanted to move some of my Sim's husband's relatives into a new lot (there were just too many people in the house I didn't want to babysit all at once...) and found that I couldn't directly assign them a house. I'm working off memory here so this may not be completely accurate, but iirc I had to first create a new household, then move the Sims into it, and THEN move them into a lot. Only then were they finally in the world. Relationships were preserved. They're also considered "Played" Sims even if you aren't actively controlling them for some reason.

I completely agree that this is a huge hassle for what used to be a simple task. Why they had to get rid of the old method using the phone/computer to kick out or move select Sims is just beyond me... but then the same could be said for a lot of changes in the Sims 4. :P

Thank you Harmony, I was hoping to find a youtube tutorial with to no such luck. I've got a couple that is yet to be wed and I don't want them living under the same roof with her fiancee's parents, awkward <.<

I tried to move her once and it epically failed, she had no relationships and no memories, fortunately I didn't save the lot she moved to and she seemed torevert to her old lot with her family *phew*

I might try another sim family I don't mind and separate them and see how it works...

EDIT - I tried and if I create a new household that's when they lose their memories and relationships, also I can't actually move a sim to a new lot unless its already been vacated. crazy eh?

Its definitely possible to move sims out however the quesiton is how without sims forgetting their relationships or moving into an already vacated lot??

I have to pick from a preselected lot for it to happen and when I tried the new household option that's when relationships and memories were gone.
