Default Need Cheat Code Help With 45 Degree Angle !!!
OK so i looove the customizing of sims 2 its THE BEST so im trying to use the boolprop Allow45DegreeOfRotation True/False cheat and its not working at all. I was able to use it once but not again after that. I can type it without the caps and change "true" to "on" i dont get the "unknown code" no matter how I type it. I've even tried the boolprop testingcheatsenabled true cheat and moveObjects and then trying the 45 degree and it still doesnt work. im really confused and not sure what to do if anyone can help that would be AWESOME. :p

"boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true" if you typed it in the same as you did in above post, you aremissing the bolded word. Also are you using the <> keys?

What you really need is a user start up cheat file so that you never need type those long cheats out in full ever again.

If you like I can copy and paste mine here. It goes in notepad and you drop it into The Sims 2 config folder. You can also try Googling and see what comes up. Mine is a very long cheat file suitable if you have all EP's including M&G so I can give that to you if you like. To angle furniture all I do is use the < > keys, that's it! No typing in needed.

Which objects function properly while at a 45 degree angle, and which ones don't? I'd like to try it as it's one of the cooler features that Sims 3 added.

I think most if not all things work, just that the animations can look a bit off when they get in and out of bed or sit and leave the piano.

Which expansions do you have? That cheat came with one of the later ones, it didn't exist in the base game.

So many replies over night! Thank you guys so much!!!

@marka93 - I've tried that to and then turning it back on and nothing :/ thanks for trying tho!!

@sweetbaby16 - i am using the < > keys but still only turns at a 90 degree. I don't think ive tried adding angle to the cheat I will definitely try that thanks for pointing that out!!

@joandsarah77 - I didnt even know that existed!! I honestly hate having to type in so many cheat codes when my game starts if you wouldnt mind i would LOOOOOOVE that privilege I do have every EP and SP for the sims 2.

@simsfreq - I have all of them but again the cheat did work once before but after that it stopped working so i know it works for my expansion packs. i just dont know why the cheat code bar isnt telling me if i typed it in wrong or if the cheat code is "unknown"

Im going to go try to add the word angle to the cheat right now and see if that works. Thanks so much for replying you guys this is really awesome.

@whitekid1226 no you said this is how you have it "boolprop Allow45DegreeOfRotation True/False" so you are missing "Angle" from yours.
So if that was wrong and you do have "Angle" in there then you have something else wrong in your game.

What you typed.
"boolprop Allow45DegreeOfRotation True/False"

What I typed.
"boolProp allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation true"
"boolprop allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation false"

@marka93 - Im sorry I misspoke! I wrote it that way for the forum. In the game i did it as you typed it and you were absolutely correct on the angle part the cheat worked perfectly i felt so foolish after too! lol it turns out when i wrote the cheat down on a piece of paper i wrote it wrong. it was actually kind of funny.

Thank you so much for helping me out i probably wouldnt have ever noticed i was typing it wrong and stop using the cheat all together if it wasnt for you.

Thanks to the rest of you guys for helping me too!! Youre all wonderful people for trying to help me.

One I know didn't work in my game was the DJ booth.

When I did that I just had Double Deluxe (Highest E P Nightlife but with the OFB engine). I must have had the 45 degree cheat then or I couldn't have done that test.

@whitekid1226

Cheat file.

Copy to notepad, drop into The Sims 2/Config.This cheat file was made for me by a very nice simmer some years ago now and I haven't touched a thing. (Too worried I would mess it up!) If that is too many sims for your computer you can safely changed those numbers to less.

Where it says alias, the shorthand cheat comes directly after it, so if you want moveObjects on you now type mon in the cheat bar.
To angle furniture just use the < > keys.

In my game, it's not the <> keys, but the ., keys. Don't know why...

On US keyboards (and maybe also UK keyboards? Hell if I remember), < is Shift + , and > is Shift + . - so you'll often see those described interchangeably.

What I lack in decorum, I make up for with an absence of tact.

@whitekid1226 I'm from Australia so if your key board is different you might have to try other keys.

I don't know if , and . is the shortcut for all European keyboards, but I know it applies to all Scandinavian keyboards. Walkthroughs (official and user-made) are made by Americans most of the time and doesn't mention any other shortcut possibilities, so when the American-style layout shortcuts doesn't work for people, they tend to think the cheat/code simply isn't working.

I've considered making a complete list of them.

Yes, Thax, on my UK bought keyboard, the > and < keys are the shift- version of . and , (you don't need to use shift to use them in game though).

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Apparently I am also using the ,. keys and not the real <> keys because I do hold down shift to get <> and I don't hold down shift to move furniture. The reason I think of them as the <> keys is because I can see those! I'd have to find my glasses to see what those other blobs are.

I checked online. Scandinavian keyboards are indeed seperate from other European keyboards. , and . on my keyboard has ; and : when shift-pressed. < and > are on the key next to the left shift.

I shalt make it my mission to make that list! I realise Scandinavians aren't that large a population, but now I have seen several who either thought the code didn't work for them or didn't know why it reacted to different keys for them, so that will do.

^ Thanks for the feedback up there, Maxon and Jo. Helped me be sure of it. :') +1 Badassness to you (Borderlands reference).

It would be interesting to see close up photos of key boards. I will assume mine (Australia) is European. It's a Dell if that makes any difference. Then again we do get a lot of imports from Asia over here.

I've had this experience too. It's the only object I've tried that didn't work (but there are still a lot that I haven't tried). The same for placing items off grid -- which I often do at the same time as a 45 degree angle, because otherwise things look stupid and take up more room than I like -- I can't recall a furniture item that didn't ork for me when it was off grid (except counters, but I don't put them off grid or angled anyway)

Who made it makes no difference, Jo. Not in the key placements, that is. Here is the layout of a Nordic keyboard http://www.qpad.se/uploads2/MK80/QP...RDIC-Layout.png

Interesting both your left and right have differences to mine; like where you question mark is, mine is next to the < > keys bottom right and yours is up top.

Yep on UK keyboards , and . are < and > when you press shift. On my German keyboard they're still , and . but with shift : and ;

It takes a bit of getting used to when you move country, luckily the layout of the letters is the same except Z and Y are swapped. I just set my language to EN in the computer, because I touch type and the punctuation really throws me. One thing which really irritates me is when I get a new device and someone has set it up to US English because you don't notice for ages until you need " or @, which are switched around from UK to US! And when you need to log into something using an email address, if you can't find @ anywhere, it's extremely frustrating. (I know where to look for it now!)

Wikipedia has all of the keyboard layouts.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_layout
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britis...rican_keyboards

(I seriously spend way too much time reading about random stuff on the internet. I can also tell you about every kind of plug socket in the world thanks to the far too many hours I've spent on plug socket sites.)

What I find really fascinating is that my 6yo understands innately what I'm going on about when I say "Press control!" even though on my keyboard it says Strg, and he can't remember that "shift" is the one with the up arrow. He knows that Z is Y and Y is Z (I've pulled mine off and swapped them now, but on the other keyboard they're not swapped).

According to those pictures my key board is a US one! Now that is a surprise. Maybe it's because we import a lot of stuff, but the US wouldn't be our first choice as it's further to ship, plus since we use British spellings I just assumed it would be the British lay out.

My husband is like why are you talking about key boards as if it's as much fun as watching paint dry, lol I find obscure things interesting.
