Default Laptop Mode Sim Lightning
I want to ask is there a way to tune the sim lighting settings when the Laptop Mode is On? I'm asking because Laptop mode makes a huge difference on my laptop but I don't like how dark the sims are. Is there a way to enable it manually in the files? Thanks in advance!

I would love to know this also. The only solution I was able to find was a mod but it made my rugs and beds super dark and hard to see (everything else was much brighter though). If there was a way to fix it and not have random dark objects that would be great!
The only other thing I can think of is testingcheats and adjusting each light manually, but I'm not sure if that will have to be done every time I enter the lot or if it will be bright enough.

I asked about Laptop Mode just a few days ago; the answer (what exactly does it do?) was:

Laptop mode does the following:

- Uses a different set of shaders, which are faster but at the cost of visual quality (requires reboot to take effect)
- Removes shadows. Shadows can also be removed if you set lighting quality to low (which also does a lot of other things).
- Turns off post processing effects. This can also be done by disabling the "Post processing" option.
- Turns off specular on the terrain. Llaptop mode is the only setting that does this.

The Post Processing Effects in turn, at least a part of them, are tuneable -- I know the Renderer_GlobalDofSettings define the distance blur, perhaps Renderer_GlobalLightSettings are what you'd need. There's several parameters named "Minspec" in there, I'd think those are being used when Laptop Mode is active. Right now I can't tell for sure, I'm also waiting for more info .. but since you said "is there a way to enable it manually in the files" I thought you might be interested in poking at that. (Making stuff brighter is probably not something that can overwhelm your machine, too, so this should be safe to play with)

XML tuning is not terribly difficult; I posted a short walkthrough in TS4 Create > Tutorials if you're interested.
