I think the only way you can see inside game RH buildings is to actually build your own using the RH rugs or doors. Perhaps someone can correct me on this if there is a way to see the interior. If you are interested in creating your own RH buildings/interiors there are some instructions On This Page for designing buildings using Zerbu's Ultimate Careers. There are illustrated instructions in there that will give you an idea how it works.

There are some building (such as the future lounge, and the showtime event centers) that have an outside shell and the inside is decorated, but I wouldn't consider those rabbitholes. The only way to have rabbitholes you can interact with would be the doors or rugs as barbarat said. Can you track down the picture you saw of the inside of the building?

The only way to "see" inside the rabbitholes is to press TAB (switch to camera mode) and move the camera inside the building. You'll be able to see low-detail interiors in some buildings (like a classroom in the school rabbithole) but you won't be able to interact with what's inside (like sit at the desks).

The interiors shown in the Scumthorpe story are actually buildings made by MinghamSmith and may not even have rabbithole functions. And, like barbarat said, you will have to build your own buildings and use the rabbithole rugs or doors to get the same experience.

For my world Stranda I made a building that would change to Big Stage when the downloader changed zoning. Big Stage works as a rabbithole in game, but for the downloader I gave the Operahouse a different zoning initially.

Usually though rabbitholes are meant to be shells, they don't really look nice, and if they have interiors they shouldn't be much to bother with. If you use doors or rugs as suggested, you can make a rabbithole interior kind of, but it will still be a just the outside building you see, you still can't follow the sim into the building.

The big stage is the only time I know when a hole house change into something the sim can't get into, like a rabbithole is, just by changing zoning.
