This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions, Late Night, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University Life, Island Paradise, Into the Future
Default NRAAS Story Progression, is there a way to make it run smoother?
I know this isn't the best place to ask but I am waiting to be approved as a member on the NRAAS site so since you guys are so helpful I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here as well to see if anyone here has had this problem and if they know a way of fixing it.

I would just like to say I love NRAAS' SPM and I am extremely impressed with it and it is the best way to play the game. Also I respect the people who built it and don't expect them to be able to make it run perfectly with everything.

Okay now on to the problem. Ever since I installed the Into the Future expansion pack it has been slowing my game to a craw, to the point where the game doesn't outright crash but it will stop taking commands and it can take as long as five real minutes for one Sim minute to pass. When I remove the mod the game run fine and none of the other mods made by NRAAS seem to have this problem and they all seem to work fine with my CC. I am running Error Trap, OverWatch, and Returner and they keep my game running smoothly except when I have the story progression mod and Into the Future installed.

If anyone out there has come across this problem and solved it I would be grateful if you could let me know how you did it. If not then I will just assume it's something strange with my computer and I will uninstall Into the Future since I would rather ditch that then the mod. Still that is not my first choice since I like the bod building and some of the future tech and other stuff that comes with the expansion. Still it isn't a huge deal if I have to get rid of it, I just thought I would check here for a fix.

Thank you for your time, you guys are very helpful to a complete noob like me who isn't that good with computers.

I love NRAAS mods, and use 90% of them.

One thing you need to know about them is that some of them need to be tuned, to run optimally on your game.

Since <StoryProgression> can be a monster of a mod, with a fairly daunting number of options, I would advise you to start SMALL.

Once the mod is installed and running, you can click on the "Town Hall/NRASS/Story Progression" menu, to enable or disable most of its options.

To have my game run smoother, I systematically switch the "General/Adjust Speed" item to "1 (snail)" and "General/All Stories" to "Blood/Enemies/Friends". This should avoid you getting notifications about each and every event in town, and allow your game to cope with most of the mass updates that happen in the background, if your computer doesn't come with all the latest technologicial bells and whistles.

I also couple the mod with <Relativity>, which has time running faster again when my active Sims are usually sleeping, for example.

I hope this helps you somewhat. if not, please feel free to ask ^.^

It's definitelly question for NRaas suite forum - though many of us, humble disaster-makers have had many adventures with and without this set of mods, we're no doubt less than qualified to answer in depth. We're simply reduced to our personal perspective and experiences. That's all.

While you're waiting, you still can read documentation - FAQs for start. There you'll find, for example information which part of the suite is higher in cost than other.
