Merging already merged cc
I'm not sure if it's okay to post this here, I was going to post on Sims4Studio, but I can't seem to find an area to post and I didn't want to post here in Sims 4 help because it seems to just be about the game itself.
I was just wondering if it's possible to merge already merged cc files?
I have a lot of cc and my game would never be playable if I added each file to mods folder individually - it would probably take years to load. So I always merge CAS and Buy/Build cc into 1 big file with Sims 4 Studio. I have no problems using merged files and the game runs perfectly. The problem is, I download new cc regularly, so what I do is I keep all the new stuff in a cc folder on my computer until it builds up and then I merge it all. But obviously this is neverending, and now I have a growing collection of big merged files.
So, using the merge function on Sims 4 Studio, is it possible to merge a big file (made up of lots of already merged cc) to another big file I've already merged earlier? Or would this cause problems/mess up the file? And if it is possible, would it take forever - like, is the length of time it takes to merge based on file size or number or files being merged? I'm assuming it's the number, but I'm not sure.
(I'm not going to stop downloading cc, so don't suggest that!)
EDIT: I got impatient waiting for a reply, so I made copies of 4 big-ish files (about 250 cc merged into each, roughly) and attempted to merge them. After Sims 4 Studio hung at 0% for about 5mins, I got a message saying:
0/4 packages merged.
Failed to merge:
blahblah1
blahblah2
blahblah3
blahblah4
So it seems it doesn't work
Does anyone know a way to do this without Sims 4 Studio or a workaround?
If not, I guess I'll have to eventually just try merging EVERYTHING at once :o
Thanks :D
