Default My townies are disappearing
I have a weird problem in my game: my townies are disappearing!
The city is gradually becoming empty. It happens in all worlds.
What can I do? This is ruining my game!

Here is a screenshot of Starlight Shores, my current game. The Gooder family is gone.

Hi There gskdoleo... could you give a little more detail. By townies are you referring to your households/residents? It sounds like you are using EA's Story Progression? Yes? If you are and want to consider this: NRaas Story Progression will keep your game alive and prospering. You do not need all the modules. Just using the Base mod you'll see a remarkable difference.

Yes! The city families, they are leaving town and the houses are empty.

I don't have Story Progression, just Master Controller, Overwatch, Woohooer, Hybrid, Register and Retuner.

I have a few suggestions for you if you don't mind:
Consider also adding Error Trap. That mod also helps keep your game healthy and provides script errors that can help resolving game issues.

NRaas Story Progression is a large and complex group of mods but you do not need to install everything. Please consider just installing the base module. Make a copy of your current game and give it a test run and try the different settings or just leave it run on it's own. After a couple of game reloads you'll see quite a difference in your town. The base module is not a resource hog and has many settings to keep things running smoothly without bringing your system to it's knees. If you are interested there is some detail on the mechanics of the mod detailed in the Story Progression FAQ. Don't let all the detail scare you away. We are only talking about the base mod and once you have that in a test game it won't appear as overwhelming as all the FAQ's and modules do. Just take baby steps with it and there's plenty of help available over at NRaas to get you up and running and many members here at MTS familiar with the mod.

Using EA's story progression will cause Sims in your town to be removed from the game at random, so in an extended play, you might notice that old Sims that you recognize will no longer be there.

To prevent this, use a better story progression mod like others have suggested above, or disable EA's story progression altogether.

If all you are wanting to do is stop the game from moving people out, a simpler solution would be to use one of Shimrod's tuning mods which stops Emigration/Imigration. He has several "flavors" that you can pick from. http://simsasylum.com/tfm/index.php...nd-no-mermaids/

You need to register at that site if you haven't already.

Reminds me of the ancient game pharao. If you didn't treat them well, they packed their bags on a horse or oxen carriege thing and left. It was easiest to see on the long queue of carrieges heading out of town.

Now I would like to play that game now, but the quality is so horried compared to now, it's impossible to play.
