If you have Pets, you use the < and > keys - select the floor and use the keys before placing the floor.

There's also a quarter turn available though I think that came with Freetime.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

I don't have Pets and I can rotate floor tiles using < and >, so if you have any EP later than Pets - give it a try.

OK - that's useful information to know.

I just uploaded a rotatable floor set which is why I found it a particularly opportune piece of information. I was able to include that information in the upload.

What is the quarter tile turn?

I'd guess they're thinking of the "boolprop allow45degreeangleofrotation true" cheat, which sadly only works on objects, not floor tiles.

Zarathustra, there is a quarter tile cheat, it came with M&G and is super useful:

"setQuarterTilePlacement [on | off]
After entering this cheat you can turn quarter tile placement on and off using Ctrl + F anytime you are in Build or Buy Mode.
Quarter Tile Placement allows you to place objects offset from the grid in quarter tile increments.

Note that some objects may become unusable or inaccessible for Sims if placed off the grid, so the use of this cheat is not recommended for anything other than decorative objects."
(from the Read Me)

It also lets you place half tiles without using fences or walls and having to remove them afterwards.

I use the quarter tile cheat all the time and have not noticed it doing anything to floor tiles only to objects. Or are you talking about the triangles you get with CTRL F, I use that all the time. I thought something else was being discussed.

The quartertile cheat won't work with floor tiles. CTRL+F (no cheat needed, CTRL+F is also used for the quartertile cheat - if you have that active, CTRL+F will still work for floor tiles) will give you the little triangles. < and > will rotate floor tiles (after you select one of course, and not all floor tiles will look good when rotated) - no cheat needed, give it a try!

Already use them, I was hoping this was something new. Many of my lots have 'rugs' made with CTRL F.

Oh, I thought it was something you did - yes, I meant Ctrl-F - my bad. Sorry.

I think it's amusing how we are all explaining the same things to each other.

Wait hang on, what does Ctrl-F do? Does it allow you to do diagonal halves without drawing your design in fence and filling it in? I must try this!

Don't you need to enter the cheat first (or have it in your userStartup.cheat file)?

I don't enter a cheat. Of course it's possible I have something in that file that allows it, but I didn't think so.

No cheat needed for the floor tiles. Which is why it annoys me to have the quarter tile cheat activated and then need to use CTRL+F for floor tiles. I keep turning the quarter tile cheat on and off, lol.

P.S. I'm pretty sure the ability to use CTRL+F for the floor tiles existed way before the quarter tile cheat was added.
