Cheat or mod for object placement?
Hello, everyone.

For many reasons it's been a number of years since I've been able to play The Sims, and I'm finally able to start playing The Sims 3. (...and the crowd groans)

Anyway, back when I was really into playing TS2, there was a cheat or a mod that allowed you to place buy mode objects just about anywhere, and they didn't snap to a gridline. I loved it for setting up kitchen counters, bathroom vanities, and desks.

Is there a cheat or a mod that does such a thing in The Sims 3?

Thanks a ton!

If you hold down the Alt key, you can freely place/rotate objects without them snapping to the grid. Combined with the MoveObjects cheat, this will allow you to place objects virtually anywhere.

Moveobjects On/Off
Type this cheat in to the console to give yourself the ability to place items anywhere. You can do silly things with this, or use it to your advantage to help you decorate your Sim's house. With it, there won't be restrictions as to where you can place certain items, like cars. To disable the cheat, type moveobjects off

Hold Alt While Placing Objects
This isn't necessarily a cheat, but may be unknown to some Simmers. Holding Alt while placing an object will allow you to freely rotate it, offering more placement options.

You may need this one too:

disableSnappingToSlotson Alt On/Off
This stops objects from snapping into a slot when placing them.

This is good for stuff like counters
