Ah I forgot about that option, I do have allmenus on which would mean testingcheats is on permanently but I had had some problems with it so I'd already forgotten about it
I honestly prefer poseboxes with a stop all interaction that doesn't reset Sims because if they're on an OMSP they often snap out of it when resetting, and you need to place them back. Unfortunately there aren't that many.

As for letting them all give birth, the lot didn't implode haha, it just got extremely slow and I just quit. I went back to the lot and made them all townies before they gave birth, and now this test hood has about a hundred pregnant sims walking around. @simsample I got around 100 sims pregnant, and only one of them got the "navyrust", and 2 sims got the "spring" one. I kinda want to try again with different circumstances to test out and try to discover these mysterious petterns, but honestly??? Too much work and I'd rather not know @simsfreq Here they are: |
I've always just used these maternity outfits and have seen every one of them on my sims. I don't get a cluster of certain ones either.

I also prefer a "stop all" button that works for all the poses in a box, because I can never remember which poses I've used. Sometimes I can barely remember which posebox I've used, especially when there's 20+ on a lot.
I don't want them to reset, because I've maybe set up their face pose, used an OMSP, and/or other things, and resetting always mucks up this...
I tend to make more than 10 poses for my perosnal poseboxes, and making individual stop buttons is just a huge mess. The one stop button is a lot easier/quicker, honestly - it can just be added on to the one "stop" BHAV instead of needing a full set of everything (and I'm lazy too, so I'll just clone a posebox I've already made, fix stuff that needs fixing, and then all the buttons etc. are set up properly every time, and I just need to fix the GUIDs, plus set up the new poses and texts).

I have no idea which, if any, randomizer is responsible for choosing the maternity outfit! |
That's why I "roll the pacifier" every time I start my game, even though births are quite rare in my game (about one live birth a year). I started doing this after noticing that most generated NPCs in my game were Aries and Popularity.

Here's a pic of a house I built..question is about the house next door. Can't remember what they are called (lot imposters?) but isn't there a setting, or a mod, that makes them move focussed?

Yes! That's what I'm trying to make. I've already used those defaults for too long, and I just want something different.

Malvernsims has a wonderful set of maternity defaults with your choice of 9 different outfits for each of the 9 maternity suits, arranged into a rainbow of colours! You can just get a full set of all the green outfits or all the yellow ones, or you can pick and choose. Or mix them with some of the other individual sets!
I only have one sim pregnant currently, and she's in the somewhat frumpy checked dress from the orange set. I haven't had these defaults long enough to see many of the options - or even remember, looking at the pictures, which ones I chose. I'll look forward to finding out

Yes, but bear in mind that this will mean that your game will use a lot more processor and graphics resources, as increasing the resolution of the lot imposters means that the neighbourhood view is more complex.
Lazy Duchess has a mod that will do this, you can have two versions- one is a custom launcher that also enables Discord Rich Presence (activity status such as 'Grammapat is playing Sims 2' when you are using Discord). It also has a number of other features, such as increasing the detail of lot imposters and fixing some of the randomizer bugs we were talking about here.

This is the one I use- same mod but without the launcher and RPC (I rarely use Discord as no-one ever talks to me ) and it has the randomizer fix too.

I'm not sure if anyone else has made an imposter mod?
I will choose a path that's clear- I will choose free will

Sounds like a great idea and I may just be doing that.
I have been using one from here (recolors of Amaryll's dress) , because I really like the dress - but even that gets boring when there are a lot of pregnant mothers!

I would have looked at that when I redid my maternity defaults, but as soon as I saw you could have different meshes I was hooked. Took me quite some time to work out what I wanted as Maxis did a surprisingly large number of colours.
I do have some oddities with any YA who gets pregnant, they grab randomly it seems anything in my download folder with a maternity morph. My first YA decided that the default I had for the Diva was her perfect maternity outfit and nothing would change her mind lol. So yes, this was her day wear.

What's the autonomy on Sims getting into pools? I've only ever seen the diving board used autonomously by noncontrollables.

I'd agree with this. I think they can autonomously use the diving board - it must advertise fun to them - and then they autonomously use ladders to get out, but not to get in.
I had a lot back in the sims 1 which was just a giant pool and everything was on different islands. They would autonomously use the ladders then because it was the only way to navigate to the next island, they would drag trash bags and plates of food through the water and everything I think I tried this in TS2 and it didn't work, but I can't remember, it was so long ago.
I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

I had that same occurrence, with that same dress It's strange that a sim who wore sweatpants her whole life decided her maternity wear would be quite an unpractical dress.
(I'm about to try this mod: https://modthesims.info/d/612565/ma...ung-adults.html) Though I don't know if I want to get rid of YAs picking whatever they like to wear, it might be better this way.
