I so love you for this! It's driven me crazy (which isan't hard) not being able to do buy/build stuff on community lots! Like if you get to a restaurant and all the tables are full -except for the one you forgot to put a second chair atZ! Now I can fix my spaz's w/o the rigamaroll!

Feedback from the Bon Voyage EP, it eliminates the ability to claim a door at hotels. This also can cause a shutdown of the game in any vacation lot that is identical of when the last person on a lot dies. I cleaned out all downloads completely, ran Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer, removed The Sims 2 completely, reinstalled, added and removed each download one at a time. As much as I have loved your hack, I have had to leave it out. Still using your dresser, works perfectly. If you would like any more feedback or testing, I would be glad to help.

Yes, I am having the same problem as Linda41258 discribed. And yes, it does work with seasons because before installing BV, it ran fine. I can't seem to play my game anymore without this hack (I love it too much) that getting it updated would be great. thank you.

Same problem in my game, as linda41258, and Tragic_mistake. My Sim cannot reserve a room. I hope you update this for BV. This is an Awesome Hack! Thanks!

I've got to speak up also, Cathair...This is probably my all time favorite hack, if i was forced to choose. Not so much for the buy build enabler, although that's like the icing on the cake, but so Sims can access their inventories.

I was so disappointed that I can't have my creative sims bring their easels and reward cameras (i think the reward cam takes better photos than the new digital--more options)....and bring home the resulting vacation photos AND paintings......your mod just adds so many more creative scenario possibilities.

I didn't have a chance to see if my BV lots crashed, but I also noticed my hotel doors weren't selectable with buybuild in the game. Your pets version did work fine for me up through Seasons though....

Anyway, just putting in my 2 cents, just because I'm keeping my fingers crossed you'll update.

Update: Since Cathair2005 did mention the Insiminator, I will add that the new model updated for Bon Voyage does have a buy/build enabler on it that doesn't shut down the room reservation function on hotels. I have tested it and it does indeed work. You unfortunately still can't access your inventory (As crowridgestudio stated in using your reward camera or easels. Such a great idea CRS). If you use the Insim, click onto the chair area, go into "other" and keep following "other". You'll find it. BUT- you have to use the Sim model that allows you to spawn the Insim or sectionals. Otherwise, there's no way to get it to where you are. I hope this helps, and by no means have I tried to downplay Cathair2005's great mod of enabling the buy/build funtion by mentioning the Insim. It is my intention to help others and pass along some useful information. I still do hope Cathair2005 will update this mod since it simply works on its own, is a great idea, and a wonderful work of creativity.

There's one updated for Seasons at cathair2005's web site (see profile). I've used that one to create one that works for BV, but I'm still waiting to hear from him to see if he minds me uploading it. It is so nice to have access to my inventories on a vacation lot.

mmholt, If Cathair allows you to update this for BV and also to post it, will it be posted here along with this thread or posted elsewhere? Thanks for your effort and time.

Linda, I would post it everywhere I could! I'd even just give it to cathair and let him take the credit (mostly his work anyway), since I don't care about the credit - I just want the hack. I know so many people who want access to the inventories on vacation.

It is so egoistic - cathair visit MTS2 but ignores all complaints...he can at least post some answer about BV update..

Actually, It seemed to work great with SEASONS (using the pet version). It didn't break till BV for me. Just a note... I reaaalllllly miss the access to my inventory on vacation. I shall keep my hopes up in the meantime! Thanks so much for the prior working versions.

I've already heard from cathair about this mod, and he's been waiting for SimPE to be updated.

I can't say it's really done til a version of SimPE comes out for BV, but with much fiddling around with SimPE and the location of various game files, I was able to create a Build/Buy Enabler that works with BV. Many thanks to cathair2005 for graciously allowing me to post this, since I so totally cribbed off his work.

This hack has not had too much testing, but I've confirmed that build, buy, and inventory remain enabled: on the home lot with a fire or burglar, on a community lot, and on a vacation lot. When playing last night, I had one lot open with build/buy/inventory disabled, but I went into that lot again later and it was fine. The only difference I could see was that in the first case, I'd chosen the campground lot while booking the vacation, and the second time I chose the campground lot once at the destination. I don't know if this is a fluke or not. On a vacation lot or a dorm, not all build tools are enabled, but I think this is normal - I've always had the dorm issue with other enablers.

If you use this hack, please let me know of any problems, maybe make a backup first just in case. All feedback is appreciated. I've been using this just fine for about a week, but you never know...

mmholt, Feedback on your Updated Version: I tried this and, My results were; that it works without any problems, except, I can't get it to work on the "Camping Vacation Lot" no matter how I enter the lot. I tried it several different ways & Build/Buy & Inventory is disabled every time. I guess the tent has something to do with it, but I do not code for hacks, so I don't really know. It would be Great if this were fixable. ThankYou...

ADDENDUM:
....A few hours later....I have made a discovery that seems to fix this problem I had earlier. If a Check-In Desk is placed on the "Camping Vacation Lot" Build/Buy options, and Inventory are all accessible...I hope this information is of help. I am also Really Happy to have it all working at Camp! Yippie! Happy Camper...LOL

Thanks for the feedback. I found the problem to be sporadic - sometimes I had build/buy on the campground, sometimes not. I think difference for me was that I probably went to a hotel lot and checked in first before moving to the campground. I'm not sure. But it's going to drive me crazy until I figure it out!

ohmygosh I'm so glad I read the second page and saw your post. My favorite family has been stuck on a hotel lot and a simple moveObjects on cheat would have fixed the problem, but because build/buy mode isn't enabled I was still stuck. Even if this hack doesn't work perfect atm, I'm in no condition to be choosey. :P

If you download it from there, you will find it directly below the seasons enabler on that same page.

Test it out for me if you have all expansions up to BV and remove it immediately without saving if there is a problem. With this hack, the disable mode should never appear again - after all it's your game to do as you please
