Excuse me if I sound newbish... because I WAS a newb back then!
Yes, I've really done it! I have recolored Nouk's curly & bouncy hair! You can find it in the custom hair bin. When you click on it, the eyebrows on your sim will automatically turn blonde. That's because it all started blonde! (I think blonde hair shows more detail on The Sims 2. The lighter it is, the more detail!) To fix this, click on my recolor and then click on the Red Hair button. (The button that leads you to your hair binned as red hair.) Don't click ANYTHING besides the red hair button. Behold! It's fixed!
Anyways, I made this because...
1. I learned how to recolor objects
2. I felt like it
3. I still felt like it. :D
4. The mesh was by an expert mesher; Nouk!
5. Hey, waddyah know? I feel like doing more now!

For all ages, people! ALL AGES FOR FEMALES! So the toddlers can have a pretty hair recolor, and the kid sims... and teenage sims... and obviously adults and elders!
I recolored the elders' hair as well, so even if your sim grows up with light red hair, when she matures into an elder, she'll have darker hair! I might add a lighter recolor for elders, though.

Now all the guys will be calling your female sims! lol
Special Thanks to Nouk from http://sumomo.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=235994
for giving me permission (or at least her policy, lol) to recolor her curly & bouncy ponytail. (Bouncy, bouncy! )

Got questions? Ask 'em here! (Or wherever you can find me ) Suggestions and comments, especially constructive ones, are VERY appreciated!

I'm in the mood for creatin' and uploadin'!
SEE YA LATER, ALLIGATOR!! :D
And HAPPY SIMMING!
