Hello,

This late Victorian house, created by renowned architect Wilfred Pangloss, was designed for his friend and protege, the artist Arthur Wilmott.

Wilmott, alas, never fulfilled his early promise as a portrait painter and in later life became increasingly obsessed with catching bugs which he pickled in formaldehyde before slicing them in half and displaying them in glass cases at the Bluewater Gallery.

A wave of public revulsion at this 'far-fetched idea of art' may possibly have been the beginning of the end for Arthur and he was last seen clutching his watercolour paints, lashed to the mast of the steamship Betty as she headed out of Bluewater Harbour into the teeth of a force 10 gale.
