A snippet from a letter written long ago about Oriel House .... "But my dear, I really don't care if the servants quarters are dowdy or if my children are cared for by nannies and are packed off to boarding school pretty damn sharpish - my child has his trunk for boarding school already packed in his room and as for the baby ... Nanny sits in the rocker and watches him. Of course my husband and I live in fine style. If I want to garden I use the planters in the Conservatory - the servants actually get their hands dirty outside. We have room for three of them, including nanny - and heaps of those new fangled water-closets (personally I still prefer a chamber pot). We have an utterly charming guestroom for when really important people come to stay - as for anyone else, I don't care .... It's the difference between 'them' and 'us'. I didn't go to Smugglesworth Prep School for nothing you know ....."

Times of course have changed, but Oriel House has not, it remains as a visual reminder of 'them and us' and it's now available for your sims to live in as they choose. If you want a television you'll have to install one, the same with electric lights. The rooms are lit by chandeliers, torches and oil lamps. The only entertainment in the house is the grand piano in the drawing room, a chess set and lots of books. Of course there is a fully functioning kitchen but it's pretty basic (and well disguised).

What you need to know about this house
I have used a fair bit of CFE in this build - the house is actually 3 floors high but the top floor has been reduced to a 1/4 of its size to make the pediment for the entrance and to add some interest to the top of the house. The Conservatory is two floors high and has been similarly reduced for architectural effect - so please don't touch the *very* top floor of the house or the Conservatory - it'll go all weird on you.

The custom content used in this build is cosmetic only, and it won't really make any difference if you don't have it - but the free stuff is always worth getting!

This lot was built with the help of Buzzler's Buy/Build Restriction Choker This mod allows Community objects on Residential lots and it's so useful!

I realise the tick boxes necessary to indicate the need for University and Island Paradise are not available when uploading, but I have both of them installed and they were used to create this lot.
